Request - Can you make one where the reader is a new ranch owner next-door to the yellow stone and for some reason Kayce has to go to her ranch and asked to meet the boss, not knowing it was a female or something like that but then meets her when she gets done practicing bull riding with her 14-year-old twins.

Author's Note – this one is a long one, but to fit in the whole picture it needed to be! :)

"Momma?" Your daughter, Julie, said from the doorway into your office space in the main house. "They're ready."

"Thanks, baby," You were signing off on some paperwork. "Be out there in five minutes."

Julie nodded her head and left.

You were completing the last of the paperwork for the Ag exemption for the county. Apparently, the residents before you were two years behind on their paperwork, which meant a little more work for you, but you glanced out your window and remembered why you picked this place.

The eighty-nine-acre ranch was up for auction, and you jumped at the chance. You had always wanted land, ever since you were a little girl and now you had that...for your girls.

Fourteen years ago, you gave birth to your twin daughters. They were the complete opposite, despite their identical faces. Julie was your cowgirl, wanted to be a rodeo star, and probably could now that she had the training facility to help her. June was your environmentalist. She wanted to protect the national parks...so where better to do that than have one of the parks as her backyard?

You walked over to the window and looked out to see the corrals alive with your staff and girls. Julie was already on her horse while June sat on the tailgate with her laptop...probably reading about new soil samples. You made your way downstairs.

The girls' father was nonexistent. He had barely been in your life, so why would it be different for his daughters? About three months after you found out you were pregnant, he left, and you hadn't heard from him since. His mother had a strained relationship with her granddaughters, but she lived in Utah. Your parents died in a car accident when you were fifteen...so in reality, it really was just you and your girls.

You got out to the corrals and spent the next few hours practicing riding two new bulls you had purchased. See, you were in the rodeo business, but your specialty was the animals, not the riders. Your job was to challenge the humans by working and training the animals to not show them mercy.

This new bull would do just that. While you didn't always ride them, this one was new, so you took it for a spin. Or really, he took you for a spin. You landed on your ass with a puff of dirt, but everyone clapped around you.

"Alright, Momma?" June asked from the truck bed.

"Sure..." You laughed. "You wanna try one?"

"Don't be silly," June rolled her eyes. "You know I always root for the bulls anyway."

"I know," You stood up, dusting your jeans off and looking at the crew around you. "Let's get him over to number six and air him out some...he's ready though for Saturday."

"Ms.?" One of the wranglers came up to you.

"Jake...right?" You asked, hating that you still hadn't memorized everyone yet.

"Yes ma'am," Jake smiled. "There's a Kayce Dutton here. He's asking for the boss?"

Your eyes followed where he was pointing and saw a man standing next to a dark truck. You nodded to Jake and headed toward Kayce.

"He says he's a neighbor," Jake told you as you walked together. "The place south of us."

"That's the...Yellowstone Ranch, right?" You asked. "John Dutton's place?"

"Yes ma'am," Jake nodded. "Biggest ranch in Montana."

"So, I've heard," You both got up to where Kayce had been waiting. "Hi, I'm Y/N...can I help you?"

"Uh, Kayce Dutton..." Kayce seemed slightly uncomfortable. "I was hoping to speak to the guy in charge?"

You looked at Jake who was trying, but failing, to not laugh.

"That would be me," You smiled back at Kayce. "So, again...can I help you?"

"You own this?" Kayce asked.

He wasn't being rude, but you could tell that just seeing a woman in charge of a place like this was out of the ordinary for people like Kayce. Your brief research on the Dutton family told you they basically settled the state, and Kayce was the youngest and heir to the ranch. You probably challenged everything his father tried to hold onto.

"I've yet to hear you state your business of being here, Kayce," Your smile was beginning to falter.

"Sorry," Kayce cleared his throat. "We, uh...we have the land south of you and there's a break in the fence line...we've got the men to fix it, but we wanted to make sure you were aware of what we were doing."

"Oh," you nodded. "Well, we can help...sorry, we've only been here a few days and haven't been able to inspect the whole place just yet. It's rodeo season so we're preoccupied with having our weekends taken from us for the next two months."

"I saw," Kayce nodded, a small smile on his face now.

"We can meet you out there and help on our end," You said. "Just tell me what time tomorrow and I'll bring a crew out with me."

"Momma!" Julie came up to you. "We're gonna go help them move the few cattle over to the far pasture so we can make room for the truckload coming tomorrow morning."

"Alright, I'll be there as soon as I can," You smiled.

Julie glanced at Kayce before walking off. When you looked back, Kaye was staring at you.

"My daughter," You explained. "I've got two...twins."

"I've got a boy," Kayce said. "He's eleven."

"They just turned fourteen," You smiled.

"You don't..." Kayce trailed off, not wanting to be rude.

"Neither do you," You eyed him.

"Being a dumb teenager can make you grow up quickly," Kayce sighed.

"Yeah," You nodded. "It sure can."

"So, no father?" Kayce asked.

"Not since I was pregnant," You shrugged. "Are you married?"

"Was," Kayce sighed, and you instantly knew there was a story behind it. "But it's much better this way."

"Good," You said softly. "Well...was there anything else?"

"No... we will probably start first thing tomorrow, say around seven thirty?" Kayce looked at you.

"We'll be there," You smiled.

Kayce nodded as you did and turned around to his truck. You walked back a few steps before you heard him call your name. You turned around.

"Sorry for thinking you weren't the owner," Kayce looked embarrassed.

"I'm sure I don't look like most owners out here," You shrugged.

"No, you sure don't," Kayce then let his eyes wander up and down your body, not caring who could see.

You felt your cheeks blush as he got back into his truck and drove off. You made your way down to where June was still sitting in the truck bed.

"Who was that?" June asked.

"Our neighbor," you said. "Kayce Dutton."

"He's kind of cute," June smiled.

"He's too old for you," You raised an eyebrow.

"Not for me," June laughed. "For you."

"Don't make me put you on a horse to help," You warned.

June laughed and went back to her laptop.

For the rest of the day, your thoughts were filled with a certain neighbor and the possibility of what might come.
