Request - A part 2 to Daddy's Girl. Maybe she graduates college, gets married?

Author's Note – Added an extra treat at the end! :)

Graduation

"Kayce, sit down!" You snapped up at your husband. He was standing, phone in hand, but he was also blocking everyone behind him from seeing the stage.

"I will when they call her name," Kayce argued, his eyes on the phone screen.

"Kayce!" You hissed.

"Shut it, woman," Kayce still faced forward.

"Margaret Dutton, Agricultural Sciences..." The speaker rang out.

You cheered along with Kayce, Tate, your twins Rosie and Rachel, John, Beth, Rip, and Carter. Forgetting your annoyance at Kayce a minute earlier, you stood up and leaned against him as you watched your daughter walk across the stage and get her diploma.

For four years you had only seen her for the holidays and a few weeks in the summer when she wasn't at either her job or an internship. But she had done it, graduated, and was even on the Dean's list for an almost perfect academic career at the University of Wyoming.

You looked up at Kayce and saw a tear rolling down his cheek. Instead of wiping it away, you pressed a kiss to his cheek.

A little while later, you found Maggie in the crowds of gowns and loved ones. She right straight to Kayce, wrapping her arms around his neck as he hoisted her up. Once he sat her down, she fell into your arms.

"We are so proud of you," You whispered to her, hugging her tight.

After hugs you wanted pictures, it had been a long time since a Dutton had graduated college and you wanted documentation. After a few group shots with the family, you wanted one with just you and Kayce.

Kayce wrapped his arm around both of you, your daughter between you both as you smiled. When you looked over you saw Kayce press a kiss to Maggie's forehead.

Gets Married

You looked back when the music started, even though everyone told you not to. You couldn't help it though...two of the most important people in your life were back there. Plus, you were lacking in the support next to you because Rosie and Rachel were standing at the altar on one side and Tate was on the other in each of their respective roles.

Kayce looked handsome, in his all-black attire as he walked Maggie down the aisle. You let a few tears fall, not caring because that's what the mother of the bride got to do, right?

Maggie was beautiful in her spring-time gown and to the untrained eye, looked calm with her hand holding Kayce's arm. But you could see the death grip she had on him and it made you feel better to know you weren't the only one freaking out.

When Kayce got to the alter, he pressed a kiss to Maggie's cheek before placing her hand into her soon-to-be husband's, Eric's hand. Maggie had done well; he was an insurance broker whose specialty was land trusts and ag-related corporations. Kayce had probably fallen in love before Maggie did.

Kayce walked back over by you, and you wrapped your arm around his. His hand came up to hold yours as you both watched the ceremony before you.

A few hours later you had tears streaming down your face as you watched Kayce and Maggie dance in front of all your friends and family. Maggie had chosen yours and Kayce's song as her father-daughter dance and it turned out to be perfect. She wanted a part of your wedding to be in hers. What made it the complete package was when Eric came up and asked you to dance too.

The night ended once Maggie and Eric had been sent off into the evening, not leaving for their honeymoon until tomorrow. You and Kayce were slow dancing in the shadows of the large tent, listening to the band play softly.

"Our baby girl is really all grown," You whispered.

"Thank God, you let me have two more," Kayce chuckled.

"Let you?" You laughed. "You just wouldn't get off me!"

"I didn't hear much complaining from you," Kayce dipped you back and slowly brought you up, his lips finding yours as you smiled.

Grandparents

"Okay, Dad," Maggie walked over with one last birthday gift for Kayce.

She and Eric had come up for the evening to help celebrate Kayce. Tate and his girlfriend had made it over too, along with Rosie but Rachel was still in California for her school. She was currently on Rosie's phone in a FaceTime call.

"I thought we were done?" Kayce asked as Maggie handed him a small bag.

"It's not big," Maggie shrugged, eyeing you.

You knew what it was. You had known for a week now what the gift would be, and it had been the hardest thing to keep from Kayce.

Kaye opened the bag and pulled out the shirt. He looked at it confused; Maggie had never given Kayce any type of clothing before but unrolled it. He held up the shirt and read what was on it. With how he was holding it though, no one else could read it.

"What's it say?" Rachel asked through the phone.

Kayce pulled the shirt down, his eyes wide as he looked at Maggie.

"You're not," He then looked at you.

You couldn't stop your grin and then Kayce knew it was all true.

"Not what?" Tate asked confused.

"About twelve weeks," Maggie nodded.

Kayce stood up and wrapped his arms around Maggie.

"What is happening?" Rachel asked again as Rosie held the shirt up for everyone to read.

'World's Best Grandpa' was on the front of it.

"You're pregnant?" Tate smiled.

You wrapped your arms around Tate from behind as everyone started cheering. Kayce had his face in Maggie's neck. He slowly pulled it back and Maggie got worried for a second.

"Daddy...what's wrong?" Maggie asked. "This is good news, we've been trying."

"No, I know," Kayce cleared his throat, pressing a kiss to Maggie's forehead. "M'happy for you."

You caught Maggie's eye and winked. You walked over and took Maggie's spot as Rachel then hugged her sister. You wrapped your arms around Kayce's middle as he smiled down at you.

"You big ol' softie," You giggled.

"You knew and didn't tell me?" Kayce shook his head.

"Hardest thing I've ever done...grandpa," You smiled.

"Love you," Kayce kissed your lips.
