Request - The reader is pregnant, with Kayce's baby (Monica and him are divorced) and Monica isn't happy about and starts an argument with the reader and she walks away, and Monica follows her outside where John, Kayce and the wranglers are working and the witness Monica pushing the reader from the back making her fall.

You weren't particularly happy about being alone with Monica in the living room of the main house, but apparently you drew the short straw that day for when she came to pick up Tate. While Tate was upstairs grabbing his things, you and Monica were waiting downstairs, in a very uncomfortable silence. You had already gone through all the small talk you could muster.

"Are you ready for summer break?" You asked as you leaned against the wall.

"We are already on break on the Res," Monica answered.

"Oh, that seems early," You shrugged.

"It goes way back to when we were needed to help work the fields for the white people because they couldn't figure it out themselves," Monica's eyes darted over to you. "Our ancestors obviously weren't paid."

"No, I wouldn't doubt that," You sighed, praying for Tate to hurry.

"You look like you don't feel well," Monica pointed out.

Glancing over at Monica, if she hadn't been right, you would probably have some smart remark back to her. But she was right, you didn't feel well. You hadn't been feeling well the past two weeks actually. But no one other than Kayce knew that.

"Must have just eaten something," You shook your head before leaning up and hollering. "Tate!"

"Are you pregnant?" Monica asked, her voice low.

Your eyes found hers again and you felt sweat drop down your spine. How on earth did she know that? You and Kayce only got confirmation last week when he took you to your doctor's office because he was scared you had thrown up too much for just food poisoning.

"You are," Monica's eyes narrowed.

"Monica, literally no one knows," You held up your hands, your voice lowering.

"Does Kayce know?" Monica asked. "Is it his?"

That felt like a low blow to you.

"I'm not going to dignify that with an answer," You snapped. "Please, do not tell anyone. It's very early and we want to make sure everything goes according to our plan."

"You're not married," Monica pointed out.

"I don't remember you being married when you got pregnant either," You sighed.

"I was eighteen," Monica smirked. "I always took you for the responsible type."

Your mouth started working faster than your mind.

"Wait," You tilted your head to the side. "You think this wasn't planned?"

Monica's smirk disappeared and you caught on what she was trying to do.

"We wanted this," You placed both your hands on your still flat stomach. "Kayce was so excited when we found out...we both were crying. We've been trying for a while now."

"If you can bring it to term," Monica fired one last time.

You blinked one time before turning around and walking away from her. You pushed open the front door and was hit with the cooler air outside. You took a few deep breaths, pushing down the feeling of either throwing up or crying. You stepped over to the stairs and breathed but heard the front door open.
