It was a nice pace for me. I don't have much to say, to be honest. Other than that it was a steady and good pace for one to read.
Characters: 8/10 
Sure this may just be an excerpt of a book you plan to write in the future, but I'm curious about the character's past. But in all seriousness, I feel bad for the woman and her miscarriage.
World building: 9/10 
I imagined a slow beginning, but no; we jumped right into it. Nice! I felt like I was there with the character. I also enjoyed the fantasy-like environment.
