I. BROKEN FRAME
Pacing: 9/10
The pacing is really nice. There’s nothing much that I want to input, though you could describe the way Astra is feeling under the fire’s weight from Valoa’s opinion. And also, justice for Valoa for being thrown into a contest. Also, I love the end of the story where you showed Dallan’s aesthetic, the lesson, and the glossary. It’s amazing and helps readers understand words that some may not know. 😀

Characters: 10/10
I read the “For the Reader” part before starting, so I got a little bit of an intro to the plot. And I can tell that Valoa is training, which is interesting. She must also be training someone else to use fire magic, seeing that Astra is also wielding intense flames. I think from what I’m getting, the relationship between Valoa and Astra is nice, yet I want to say the professor doesn’t need to always input his opinion. I get that he’s trying to help out, but still. :/

World building: 9/10
First of all, I love the beginning of the chapter. The quote and Pyroth’s proverbs are an interesting touch. The pictures are also a nice touch. I’ve seen those in other books, and it helps to show the aesthetic for the book. And I love it.

II. DRAGON-LIKE RIDE
Pacing: 9/10
Having Valoa Eld repeat reminds me of when I read The Reptile Room in 5th grade and there was a whole page that repeated the same thing. And the article before the story starts is a nice touch. (I know it may be common throughout the story, but I still like it)

Characters: 9/10
Clearly Valoa never asked for this. And we learn she had to leave her planet? I wonder what life was like for her back there. And preferring to be crazy over dying is pretty relatable. I’d rather go nuts than go to summer school and redo math. (Eugh) Also, nice description of Kael’s personality. It got a small snicker out of me. AND OH GOSH HE’S SUCH A NOBLE BRAT AND JERK I want to slap him, if you’ll permit me to.

World building: 9/10
It’s nice. When Valoa went into the living room after following the woman, I could envision what the area looked like. It seemed gorgeous in my mind. And the aesthetics help out once more. KEEP IT UP!!! 😆
