A Decision To Weigh (Part 3)

One Shot #5 (Cont.)

Maui's POV

Moana sits down beside me once she adjusts the sails properly. I put an arm around her and she leans into my shoulder. "Did you talk to your parents besides addressing the village?" She nods. "I did. They were very understanding and super supportive, which honestly surprised me, but I'm so thankful they reacted positively." Relief runs through me. "I'm glad they did too. I would have been heartbroken if they had a negative reaction to us being together." "They actually think really highly of you Maui. Even my father said there's no other man more perfect for me than you." My jaw drops. "Your father really said that? Wow." "I know I was surprised too, but he's right. Maui, there's no one better for me than you." I smile. "I feel the same way about you princess."

Moana gazes up at me, giving me an unreadable expression. "Oh crap, I forgot you don't like getting called that. I'm sorry. I won't call you that again." "Actually I've gotten to it over the years. To be honest with you, even when you hated me and called me that for the very first time, I loved being called that." "I never hated you Moana. I was just in awe of how incredible you were and jealousy got the best of me. You were everything I wanted to be growing up and now you're everything I aspire to be in life. You're just beautiful inside and out, which is why I fell for you." Moana bites her lip. "Maui, I know this may be too early and you might not say it back, which would be a little embarrassing to me, but would be understandable, but I love you." I pull her in for a hug. "I love you too Moana."

Courage then comes over me and I pull Moana in for a kiss. A kiss that's both soft and passionate. I've kissed many women over the course of my VERY long wife, but none of them have been able to make me feel the way that Moana does. I know I've said it before, but I'm truly happy that Moana wants to spend her life with me. I can't wait until we get to Te Fiti, which according to my calculations, will be in three to four days.
