One Shot #35 (Cont.)

Ariel's POV

 We've had a long few days of sailing so we decided to take a break and make camp at a nice little island for the night. Though Moana and I really want to test out our lockets. We've been clutching them for hours in excitement and anticipation. It's hard to tell which one of us is more excited so it's pretty safe to say that it's a tie. When Maui ties the boat up, Moana and I swim off and float about near the shore. I help her put her locket on and shes does the same with me. We watch in pure awe as our mermaid tails turn into pairs of legs. Maui and Eric both beam smiles of joy at us which we gladly return. I grab her hand and together we take our first ever steps on land. 

   We wobble at first, but eventually we gain stability. When we do, an idea pops into my head. I whisper it into Moana's ear and she nods in agreement. The idea being that we run around for a it and the boys have to chase us. Under our breath, we count to three and make a run for it. Eric begins to go after me and Maui goes after Moana. As we come to a junction, Moana and I give each other one last look before separating. 

  Eric's POV 

 I've been chasing Ariel for hours now and I've never been more out of breath in my life. "Ariel" I call out. "I know you're having fun, but can we please rest now?" She giggles adorably and walks over to me. From there, we sit down on some rocks and catch our breath. We sit in silence for a minute before I break it. Now that we're finally alone, I can tell her how I feel about her. I play with my hands nervously and force myself to look right into her stunning baby blue eyes. "Listen Ariel, I've been keeping something from you since the day we met." Ariel's smile turns into a frown. "Is everything okay Eric?" I put a hand on her knee. "Everything is okay Ariel, at least I hope it is after I confess that I have feelings for an amazing girl." Ariel looks down at the ground. "Whoever you have feelings for is a really lucky girl." 

  I chuckle lightly. "That girl is you silly." I watch her eyes bug out of her head, not out of fear though, but excitement. "Really Eric? That's amazing because I like you too!" She suddenly throws herself in my arms, knocking me off the rock. I grin from ear to ear at the fact that not only does she like me back, but because of how close we are. My heart begins to race. The feet turns into inches and the inches close away as our lips press gently against one another. They navigate one another smoothly, but it's as if they've always known that we'd end up together all along. 

Hoped that you guys liked this part of this one shot! I wanted to split this into two parts. I wanted one part to focus on Ariel and Eric's relationship development and the other to focus on Moana and Maui's relationship development. :) -Mary
