Brainwashed (Part 1)

One Shot #26

Tamatoa's POV

Moana came down alone to Lalatoi about five months ago to pay me a little visit. I remember that day crystal clear. Her hair was pulled back into what the mortals call a bun, she had on a black dress sundress, and golden sandals. It's funny how I can remember exactly how she looked five months ago, but yet I have trouble remembering what I ate for dinner two days ago. Oh now I remember, it was a bucket of cod fish. Stop it Tamatoa, get back on track. I shake my head like a dog and try to focus on the present moment. Before me, like a good little girl, Moana is bowing at my feet. I grin and use a claw to pull her up in front of my face.

"You're such a good wife Moana. You always put everyone else's needs first. I have to say, that's a pretty admirable quality.  I'm finally starting to see what Maui sees in you." Moana flinches at the mention of Maui, as my brainwashing has programmed her to do. Moana no longer views Maui as her best friend, but rather the scum he truly is.  You see, during Moana's visit down here a few months ago, she was trying to fight a battle for Maui that didn't concern her. Since I can't stand that self-righteous demigod, I decided to toy with the only person he truly loves beside himself, that being Moana. So I erased her memory and filled it with false images, the main ones being that she and I are married and Maui is still the villain he was when he stole the heart of Te Fiti. Do you know the rat tried to blame that on me? Unbelievable. I chose to do this not only to get revenge on Maui, but also because I know that he's in love with her. I'm just waiting for the day he decides to come here. When he does, he's in for quite the shock. I can't wait.

"Moana darling, can you go fetch me today's catch? I'm starving." She nods obediently. I pat her head like a dog and watch her leave my cave and go down to the shore. She comes back about fifteen minutes later with a bucket full of fish. I pull her towards me and give her a kiss on the lips. "Thank you. You may take some for yourself as a reward for making such a good catch." Moana gives me a small smile. "Thank you Tamatoa." I scarf my fish down rather quickly while Moana plays with hers a bit before eating. I can sense that despite the smile she has on her face, there is something troubling her.

"Moana, is everything okay?" She continues to smile. "I'm fine. Just tired is all." I happen to like Moana unlike Maui. That's why I didn't harm her physically. "Why don't you go lie down then? I can clean up." She bows gratefully and heads to her chambers, which is just a rock bed with a single blanket and pillow on it. I'd get her a more comfortable one if I could, but there's only so much that a crab like myself can do. Being devilishly handsome can't get you everything unfortunately.

Hope that you guys liked this part of this one shot! This was another suggested by one of you guys on Facebook the other night. The idea really intrigued me so I knew that I had to do something with it. It's a little similar to one of my previous ones, but at the same time it's different. :) -Mary
