The Girl Who Has Everything And The Guy Who Has Very Little (Part 13)

One Shot #28 (Cont.)

Maui's POV

A week later...

After a week of rest and recovering, I'm ready to face school again. Luckily since it's fall, I can get away with wearing long sleeve shirts, turtlenecks, and sweatshirts. I don't want anyone seeing my scars and asking me a bunch of questions. If anyone asks besides Luis and John, I'll simply ignore them. Though, I do want to get Trevor a piece of my mind. Moana's helped me realize this past week that even though I don't matter to many people, I do have someone who cares about me, my life has purpose, and things will get better.

Moana and I enter the school, walking hand in hand. Everyone gawks at us, some whisper, and applaud us. Basically, we're getting some mixed reactions. At the end of the hallway, I spot Trevor's goons laughing at me and Trevor giving me a death glare. "Moana, you can stay close by if you want, but I want to give a few choices words to Trevor." She kisses me on the cheek in front of everyone. "Go for it Maui." I peck her on the lips confidently and waltz over to Trevor, who's jaw is now dropped on the floor. "Aw is Trevor sad because he didn't get the girl he liked?" Trevor rolls his eyes. "She's not that great anyway. I could have any girl I want." I laugh. "Actually no you can't. Believe it or not, very few girls like guys who are assholes. I can't believe I was afraid of you. I see now that you're just an insecure coward. You pick others apart because your life is shitty. Well let me tell you, my days of being your punching bag are over. Now if you excuse me, I'm heading to class with MY GIRLFRIEND."

I extend an elbow playfully for Moana to loop her arm through. She giggles and loops her arm in mine. Together, we brace ourselves for another day in the life of high school. Though now that I have the girl, it's a little more tolerable.
