The Girl Who Has Everything And The Guy Who Has Very Little (Part 5)
One Shot #28 (Cont.)
Moana's POV
I've seen Maui from afar a few times since theater but I didn't want to annoy him. He seems pretty upset right now. I hope I didn't do anything to him. I'd feel like crap if I did. I'll email him later and ask him if he's okay. I'll be nonchalant and casually slip it into the end of the email. I have a few more questions I wanted to him about the project anyway. You know now that I think of it, it'd probably be easier to just give him my number. I'll attach it in the email too.
That evening...
I log onto my laptop after my homework is complete for all of my other classes except theater. I was thinking about Maui wanting to do a drama and I think that'd be great. Drama is such a good genre. You can do so much with it. You can even overlap it into other genres. My laptop is now on so I log onto my Gmail and begin typing Maui an email saying the following: Hey Maui, it's Moana. I had some ideas I wanted to run by you. I also realized that it would been easier to just give you my number so here it is. You can respond by text or even call me. Whatever you prefer. Anyways, my number is ***-***-****. Also, I hope you're okay. I saw you in the hall a couple times and you looked super stressed. -Moana
I decide to study for a Spanish quiz until I get a response from Maui. Within half an hour, my phone goes off. I get a text from unknown number, but I know it's Maui because he texts me saying it's him. He also wants to know if he can call me for a bit. I text him back "Yes." I put his number into my contacts and a minute later he calls me. "Hey Moana. I'd love to talk about the project. As for me, don't worry. I'm not worth worrying about." I frown hearing that. "Are you sure Maui? I know we don't really know each other, but if you need to talk, I'm more than happy to listen." He sighs into the phone. "Really it's fine. Can we please talk about the project?" I nod even though he can't see me. I facepalm myself and say "Yes."
In our hour long phone call, we manage to settle on a few things. We're going to combine drama and romance for genres, he's going to write the first half of the scene and I'm going to write the second half, we're going to aim for three to four pages for our scene, and we're not going to use any tacky props. As we wrap up the call, I find myself getting sad. I actually really enjoyed talking to Maui. In class, he plays it off like he isn't into theater, but on the phone, he talked with so much passion. It was beautiful. I can't wait to get to finish writing the scene and start rehearsing it.
Hoped that you guys liked this part of this one shot! :) -Mary
