The Girl Who Has Everything And The Guy Who Has Very Little (Part 12)

One Shot #28 (Cont.)

Moana's POV

  Two weeks later...

I've given Maui his space as he asked. I haven't been able to visit him in the hospital. I hope he got released. Though if he has, it's kept it on the down low. He's not back in school yet. I'm going to text him later and ask him if we can talk. I really want to talk to him. I miss him. I know I fucked everything up, but I feel as though I deserve another chance. I on;y have one more class to get through and then I'm free for the day.

An hour later...

I had to stay behind for a few minutes to talk to one of my teachers, but I'm heading home now. I have some math homework to do and then I can try getting a hold of Maui. It's just a worksheet so it shouldn't take me long at all. I hate math with a passion, but thankfully I happen to be good at it.

  An hour later...

I got home forty minutes ago and just finished my homework. I grab my phone off my bed and text Maui: Hey Maui. I've given you some space, but I really want to talk. If you're out of the hospital, can you meet me somewhere? If you're still there, I can come by. Let me know. -Moana

A half an hour goes by before my phone goes off. I open it quickly and bow gratefully when I see Maui's name on my screen. His text says the following: Hey Moana. I'm ready to talk. I got out of the hospital two days ago. Can you meet me at the park down the street from me in forty five minutes? -Maui

I jump for joy. I'm so happy he finally wants to talk. I text him back a "yes." I quickly run down the hall, shout to my parents that I'm going to see Maui, and take an Uber there since the family limo driver isn't here right now. I manage to get to the park with five minutes to spare. As I get out of the Uber, I find Maui there early. When he sees me, he gives me a small smile. My heart warms. I haven't seen him smile in weeks. Even though his is small, it's better than no smile at all. "Hey Maui." "Hi Moana. Please sit." I do so. An awkward moment of silence passes before Maui speaks up.

"I've done a lot of thinking these past two weeks and I've realized that despite how much you hurt me, I still want you in my life. I also still have feelings for you. You managed to worm your way inside the heart of mine that I didn't even know I still had. I'm not going to force you to be with me. I know that you have a reputation to uphold and I don't want to get in the way of that." I put a finger to his lips and silence him. "I was an idiot. You are so much more important than popularity. If you'll allow me the opportunity, I'd love to be with you. Not in secret, but out in the open. You're such an amazing guy and a breath of fresh air compared to the rest." Maui looks at me in utter shock. "Y-y-you do?" I smile. "I do." "Y-y-you aren't ashamed of me?" I cup his face gently. "Never." He smiles back and pulls me towards him, his facial expression pleading for me to kiss him. I do so gladly. We kiss for a few minutes before pulling apart, both of us having goofy grins on our faces. "W-w-will you be my girlfriend Moana?" I kiss him on the cheek and he blushes adorably. "Yes I would love to be your girlfriend Maui."
