Moana's POV

Three days later... S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters...

 Maui's more nervous than I've ever seen him in his life as we pull into S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. I drove us here because I knew he wasn't in the mental shape to do so himself. As Maui gets out of the car, I go over to him, stand on my tip toes, and put my hands on his shoulders. "Try to relax Maui. I'm sure everything will be fine." He grunts. "Says the cute girl that isn't a monster." I pout. "Trust me, please. I'll be by your side the entire time. Okay?" I extend my hand for him to take. He hesitates but ends up taking it, sending a rush of warmth through my body. 

   As soon as we step through the doors, we run into the famous agent Phil Coulson. My heart speeds up. He's the most famous S.H.I.E.L.D agent ever. I know this man almost better than he knows himself. He gives us both a kind smile. "Are you guys potential new recruits?" Maui winces at his question so I decide to do the talking. "No not quite. I'm actually here in regards to Maui here" I say while pointing to him. "He developed some abilities a year ago that are a little on the destructive side and since you guys deal with inhumans and whatnot all the time, I figured S.H.I.E.L.D would give him the best chance to become a normal man again." Coulson nods. "Absolutely." He looks from me to Maui. "In order to try to help you, I'm going to have to see your powers in action. Are you willing to showcase them for me, just once?" 

  Maui nods. "I don't mind doing it just once, but can we do it somewhere private? I also want it to just be you, me, and Moana. If any of the Avengers or your agents come flocking down to gawk at me like some kind of TV show, I will walk out of here and expose you guys for what you did." I put my hand on Maui's arm to try to calm him down. "Maui" I whisper in his ear. "Wait a few minutes before you unleash your fury." He sighs and nods. Coulson leads us through a series of long hallways and we stop at a gymnasium like room. "This is the room that we often use to showcase powers. As you can see, it looks like a gym." Maui grunts and responds sarcastically by by saying "It's like high school all over again." I giggle at that, which causes Maui to crack a smile. 

  Coulson steps in front of Maui. "So Maui, what exactly are you powers?" "Whenever I get angry, which is quite often these days, I turn into this big green monster with super strength and a desire for war. I've referred to him as the Hulk." Coulson mumbles "Interesting" to himself. "I have a question for you Maui. Do you care for Moana here?" His face becomes sincere and gentle. "I do indeed." It takes me a moment, but I'm catching on to what Coulson plans to do. He's going to use me to make Maui angry enough to shift into the monster. Coulson smirks confidently from Maui to me and back to Maui. Coulson whispers in my ear. "I'm sorry for what I'm about to do Moana." Coulson shoves me against the wall and slaps me so hard that I stumble on to the floor. I stay frozen in my place as Maui's shirt rips while he transforms into "The Hulk." 

   Maui then charges at Coulson, picks him up by the throat, and sends him flying across the room. Coulson groans in pain. I would go over to him, but to be honest, I'm a little afraid to. Maui as the Hulk comes over to me and extends a hand. It takes me a moment to snap out of my daze and accept the gesture. I climb into his hand and he places me in his plane of view, right in front of his face. He uses his other big hand and strokes my cheek. I smile and kiss his hand. The Hulk smiles and puts me down gently, shifting back to Maui. When he's officially Maui, I run into his arms and give him the biggest hug I've ever given a person in my life. He runs his fingers through my hair. "Are you okay princess?" I blush. "I'm not a princess Maui, but yes I'm okay. Coulson just did that so he could see your powers in action and figure out how to go about this. He's a nice man. He'd never do anything like that on purpose."

   Coulson squeaks out "Yes that's true. Moana, can you give me a hand?" I nod and go over to help him up. "Thank you dear. Anyways, those are some pretty impressive powers Maui. Are you sure you don't want to be recruited to be an Avenger?" "I'm positive Coulson. Please just try and rid me of this monster inside me." Coulson puts a hand on both of our shoulders. "I will do my best. Though Maui, you're going to have to stay here for a little while. Is that okay?" Maui's about to open his mouth to say no when I interrupt. "That's totally okay. I can take care of things in the lab while he's here." Maui pulls me towards him. "Are you sure?" "I'm positive Maui. Plus, I'll come by everyday to visit you and report back on things." I look at Coulson. "Am I allowed to visit him while he's here?" Coulson nods. "Of course. Though, I just have one more question for Maui." Maui looks at him curiously. "What's your question?" Coulson smirks. "Is Moana your girlfriend?" I study Maui carefully. I watch him take a deep breath. He answers Coulson, but looks at me saying "No, but I want her to be." A million butterflies fly around in my heart and stomach. I've fallen for my boss... hard.
