An Unwanted Visitor (Part 2)

One Shot #30 (Cont.)

Maui's POV

I can't believe Moana just sprung that on me like it was nothing. If I had something important to tell her, I certainly wouldn't hide it for days on end. I mean the old me would, but I've made a lot of progress the past few months. I don't want to mess that up. I just need a little while to calm down. After I do, I'm going to reasonably ask Moana to tell her parents that my "cousin" needs to leave. I don't want anything to do with that "family." That "family" decided I wasn't worthy enough to be loved by them. Therefore, they don't deserve my love, concern, or time. Screw them. I've had enough people mess me up, don't plan on adding anymore to that list.

  Three hours later...

I finally feel calm enough to try and reason with Moana. I begin to walk down Mt. Montonui, my other escape place. As I do, guess who I slam right into. That's right, my "cousin." I can tell it's her because she's the only villager that appears out of place here. She's older than I pictured her to be, but mortals do age over time I guess. "I don't know you nor do I want anything to do with you. It's in both of our best interests if you leave." I try to move past her, but she blocks my path. I roll my eyes and glare down at her. She's awfully short. "You really don't want to test me. I'm in no mood to deal any shit right now." I attempt to get past her once more, but again she blocks my path. I then pick her up, carry her down to the ocean, and toss her in it. "You guys did the same thing to me. Considering this returning the favor." The ocean surprisingly doesn't carry her back ashore. I guess it's sympathetic towards me for once. Rather, the ocean creates a portal and shallows her whole. I shrug my shoulders. "Oh well, she's dead. Back to the village I go."

I head back into the village to look for Moana and she's no where to be found. I decide to check out secret place on a whim to see if she's in there... and she is. Though, her back is faced to me and she's curled up in a ball. It takes me a moment to realize that I upset her with my behavior. Stupid, stupid me. I kick the wall in anger. I see Moana flinch and feel even stupider. How does she even put up with me? I don't deserve to have her in my life. She's too good for me.

"Moana, can we talk?" She shakes her head no. I feel my heart begin to break. My best and only friend doesn't want to speak to me. I screw everything up. No wonder why my parents took one look at me and decided they didn't want me.
