Maui's POV

That night...

 I'm making some supper, which happens to be chicken noodle soup and toast tonight when my phone vibrates on the kitchen table. I grab it quickly to see if it's Moana for like the hundredth time... and it is! Hooray! I've been wanting to talk to her all evening. We didn't get to really talk after practice because one of the girls on the team, I believe it was Melody, wanted to grab supper with Moana. I'm glad the girls are treating her better though. During tryouts, most of them treated her like shit, including myself. I didn't mean to come across that way. I just see so much potential in Moana and I want to help her shine to the best of my abilities. Anyways, I type in my password quickly and read Moana's text. It goes a little something like this: 

Hey Maui, it's Moana. I wanted to text you earlier but I was out to supper with Melody and then I feel asleep for a bit after that. I also wanted to ask you if the rumor going around the team about there being no practice tomorrow is true or not. Please let me know and I look forward to hearing from you. :)  -Moana 

 Those gossipy girls. I meant to tell Moana myself earlier but I was a little too entranced with her beauty to tell her. I text back: 

 Hey Moana, it's Maui as you probably know already since you have my number programmed into your phone. Anyways, the rumor is true. You and the girls have a day off from practice tomorrow. Though, I wanted to ask you something. 

A couple minutes goes by before I get a response back. By the way, this is how the rest of the conversations goes: 

Moana: Sure... what's up?

Me: I was wondering if you wanted... if you would consider... spending the day with me tomorrow. I want to get to you more, the proper way. Face to face is so much better than texting. 

Moana: I'd love to Maui! I'll meet you somewhere. Where do you want to meet?

Me: How about Joe's Diner for lunch at say noon? 

Moana: I love Joe's Diner! Absolutely. Can't wait to see you. :) 

Maui: The feeling's mutual. Now get your beauty sleep. ;) 

Moana: Only if you get some too ;) 

Maui: Ugh fineeeee. You're not fun. 

Moana: HEY! I am too fun. Now let me sleep.

Maui: Fineeeee. You're fun and adorable. Good night Moana. :) 

Moana: *Blushing emoji* Good night Maui. By the way, you're cute too.

My heart soars at that. I might actually have a shot with Moana. That alone allows me to have my first full night of sleep in ages.
