One Shot #33 (Cont.)

Moana's POV

 I've noticed that Maui's been pacing the lab back and forth for nearly two hours now. I'm worried about him. I know we're not really friends, just co workers, but I still care for his well being. He's a good boss to work for. Whenever I struggle to understand something, he always tries his best to explain it well so I can get it. He's also very flexible with my work schedule, taking into consideration that I'm still in college and things are hectic for me. In case you wondering, I'm twenty two. I'm a junior in college right now. I took a gap year to figure out things, but it worked out in my favor. During that gap year, I worked full time and saved up a lot of money. I also got into science. Therefore, I knew right away that I wanted to be a scientist. 

  "Sir, I don't mean to pry, but are you okay?" Maui looks at me strangely. "I'm fine. Why do you ask?" I laugh nervously. "Well you're been pacing back and forth for a long time sir. I'm concerned is all." He takes me by surprise and puts a hand on my shoulder. I tense up at his touch because I'm not used to it. "I'm fine Moana. Could you be of use and tell me what you see in these slides?" He hands me a bag containing twenty slides. I can tell by the amount of slides that he wants to get me off his back. I'd normally be offended, but he's pretty out of it today so I'll let it slide. "Sure thing boss. I'll return once I have them properly analyzed." "Thank you Moana." "You're welcome." I head out of the lab and go into a nearby exam room, immediately diving into my task. 

Six hours later...

 I walk into the lab but freeze right in my tracks when I see a big green monster destroying it. Panic and anxiety swell inside me. Where's Maui and what is this monster rooming around the lab? I try to sneak away to call the cops when the monster spots me and looks straight at me. I swear I no longer can feel a heartbeat. He kicks down the door and makes his way towards me, grabbing me with his super strength. "I-I-I don't know who you are or why you're here, but I'm not going to hurt you. I was just looking for my boss is all. P-p-please don't hurt me. I won't call the cops or anything. I just want to go home." The monster growls a little bit but lessens his grip on me. 

   An idea pops into my head. Maybe I can tame him a bit. I begin stroking his arm gently. He looks at me with surprise, but allows me keep doing what I'm doing. Eventually, he grips the wall and begins to calm down. Then, he begins to disappear and I'm face to face with... Maui. I stare at him in fear and shock. My skin becomes pale and before I know it, I pass out, hitting my head on the wall hard on the way down.
