Mousey And The Bad Boy (Part 2)

One Shot #14 (Cont.)

Moana's POV

Oh great, just great. As if high school hasn't started off badly enough, I have Maui in all six of my classes, everyday, five days a week. I only know his name based on how many times all of my teachers shouted it aloud in class. This is a nightmare. Universe, why must you do this to me? Middle school was horrible enough. I spent three years of middle school having no friends and being bullied constantly. Everyday I came home crying my eyes out because not a single person wanted to be my friend. I'm worried that high school is going to be the same way. I'm a good person. I'm kind to others, a hard worker in school, have a good heart, always put others before myself, and more. I don't understand why people treat me the way I do. It makes me so sad.

I just barely survived my first day of school. Maui's jerk friends are in half of my classes and they're just as bad as he is. I got called every name in the book today. The classes that his friends weren't in, Maui made sure to do the bullying of three people all at once. He even yanked my hair in U.S. History just because I knew the answers to most of the questions that the teacher asked. Based on today, I'm starting to think that maybe I should switch my classes around. I don't think I'll survive a whole year of being in every class with Maui. First thing in the morning, I'm going to the guidance counselor's office to fix this. I'll even go on my hands and knees and beg if I have to. I've been through enough. I'm tired of not feeling safe in a place where I should feel that way. I go to school to learn, not to be harassed like this.

The next morning...

I go to my guidance counselor's office. I met her briefly yesterday. Her name's Ms. Watson. She's thirty five, perky, and very kind. I'm hoping she can pull a few strings for me. "Hi Ms. Watson, I'm sorry to bother you, but there's something I need to talk to you about. Do you have a minute?" "Anything for my students. It's Moana right?" I nod. She sits down and motions for me to do the same so I do. "I was wondering if I could switch my schedule around." She gives me a look of concern. "Is everything okay Moana?" I sigh. "Not really, but it's silly and I don't want to get into it." "Is someone harassing you Moana?" I look down at the ground, not wanting to answer her question. "Who is harassing you?" Tears cloud my vision and I begin to cry. Ms. Watson hands me a tissue, which I take gratefully. "It's Maui and his friends." "Oh those boys. They're horrible. Anyways, I can't make any promises, but I'll see what I can do. You'll have to survive today though in those classes. Though if you have any more problems, you can come back and visit me at any point throughout the day. Does that sound fair?" I nod. "Thank you Ms. Watson." "Anytime. I hope today's a better day."

I nod and make my way to class. I sit down in the back this time, near the window so I have less chance of Maui and his friends sitting near me. Luckily, they show up late and are stuck with three front row sits. At least Biology Part 1 will be peaceful today. It gives me a little while to prepare myself for the fury that could come my way later.

An hour later...

Biology ends and I can feel my nerves coming about when Maui and I are the last two in the class, gathering our things. He glares at me and I look past him. I end up fumbling and dropping my books on the floor. He stands over me smirking. "Can you please help me? I'm in a hurry to get to U.S. History." He rolls his eyes. "Now why would I help you?" "Oh I don't know, because it would be nice to see you act like a decent human being." He laughs. "Sorry Mousey, I don't do politeness or kindness so you're out of luck."

Maui skips out of the room and I'm left with a mess of papers to clean up. As I manage to get them back into my binders, the bell rings. Crap. I'm late for class on only my second day. This is definitely going to be a long year...

Hope that you guys liked this part of this one shot! It's going to be a multi-parter for sure. I don't know how many parts exactly yet, but it'll be one of my longer ones. I did a high school one before, but it had a different plot. Before, Maui was the good guy, but this time around, I wanted to convey him as a bully. Hopefully he'll grow into a better person in do time. We'll just have to see though. :) -Mary
