One Shot #25 (Cont.) 

Maui's POV

  Me being the macho guy I am, I get embarrassed whenever I break down in front of others, especially Moana. I'm most comfortable breaking down in front of her than anyone else, but I don't thrive on it. Moana needs a strong man to protect her from the dangers that world places upon her. That's my job. I feel like right now I'm failing at it. I wipe away my tears and gazes into Moana's beautiful  brown eyes. "We're going to be okay Moana. We'll get through this. If we could fight off Te Ka and manage to restore Te Fiti's heart, we can overcome this too." She sighs and nods. 

   "Maui... can you please let Dr. Kiki take care of your hand now? It doesn't look so good..." I feel the heat rushing to my cheeks. I was so focused on Moana that I completely forgot that I have an extremely bad hand injury. Moana shouts for Dr. Kiki. He comes running in quickly. "What do you need Moana?" I laugh nervously. "She was calling you for me. Do you think you treat my hand?" He gives me a gentle smile. "Absolutely Maui. Luckily for you, the burns on your hand aren't nearly as bad as the ones around your heart so I won't need to perform surgery on your hand. I just have to put a medical rub on it, a few stitches, and a bandage. I motion for him to work his magic and he does. Within fifteen minutes, I'm already bandaged up. "Maui, you'll need to change your bandage every other day and apply this rub on your hand. Please do so for the next two weeks." I nod in understanding and silently thank Dr. Kiki before he leaves the room once again. 

 I then shift my attention back to Moana. "I love you so much Moana. Please don't ever leave me..." Moana gives me a small smile. "You don't have to worry about that for a very long time. I'm young Maui. I still have my whole life ahead of me. I'm here to bug you for all my days." I chuckle and plant a kiss on her forehead. "And I'll be here for you to bug me all day, everyday. Even if I have to go somewhere else to take care of some business, you can come with me and bug me while I do so. Does that sound good?" Moana giggles, a sound I haven't heard in so long, but melts my heart nonetheless. "That doesn't sound good." My face falls and she puts a hand to my cheek, caressing it affectionately. "That sounds perfect." I smile like a little boy and passionately kiss the love of my life. I'm going to marry her someday, I just know it.
