The Girl Who Has Everything And The Guy Who Has Very Little (Part 11)
One Shot #28 (Cont.)
Moana's POV
Two hours later...
I'm sitting by Maui's bedside in the hospital. His body is so pale and weak. It breaks my heart. This is all my fault. I acted like a shallow bitch and pushed him over the edge. I really like Maui. I want to be with him, but now, I might not ever be able to. I just want Maui to come out of this. I'll leave if he asks me to once he wakes up, but I'm not going anywhere until he does. I texted my parents to tell them what's going on. Despite being strict, they understood and told me to stay for as long as I need to. They even offered to drop off extra clothes, food, etc if need be. I'm so lucky to have two parents who care about me. I don't even deserve it. Meanwhile Maui is stuck in a dumpy apartment with an abusive father and constant reminders of his past...
Maui's POV
Three hours later...
I begin to wake up. As I do, I realize that I'm no longer hanging from the ceiling of my room, but lying in a hospital bed. The sunlight hurts my eyes and my head starts pounding. I groan in pain and hold my head in my hands. "Maui?" I recognize that voice anywhere. I force myself to look up quickly to confirm my hunch. It is Moana. I then look away. "What are you doing here? You made it pretty clear how I'm an embarrassment to you and a disgrace to humanity." "I wanted to make sure you were okay. I found you... in your room... hanging from the ceiling with a rope around your throat and bloody cuts all over your arms."
I can feel an anxiety attack coming on, but I refuse to have one in front of Moana, the girl who broke me. "Moana, you should leave." She gets up, but lingers in the doorway. "I'm really sorry Maui. I know I hurt you, but every word of what you said is true. I am spoiled bitchy brat who cares about my reputation more than I should. Though, I hope you'll forgive me someday. I'll wait for you because I still want you." I can feel my heart doing all sorts of flips in my chest, a mixture of good and bad. I mumble a "We'll see." She nods and leaves my room, giving me the much needed space to think. I really need to be careful here. I can't let Moana in again just to hurt me again as badly as she did before.
