The History Teacher And His Student (Part 8)

One Shot #23 (Cont.)

Moana's POV

 That evening...

I invited Kayla over for dinner so we could hang out for a bit. Luckily she didn't have much homework and was free to come over. Since my parents are too tired from their day at work, they ordered two pizzas for all of us, a buffalo chicken pizza and a half cheese/half pepperoni pizza. I'm such a pig when it comes to food that I manage to down five slices before I even start to get full. Kayla only ate two and claimed to full after. I'm already on dessert, which is strawberry ice cream. I offer Kayla some, but she politely declines. I finish my last few bites and head up to my room with Kayla. Her mom isn't picking her up for another two hours so it gives us some time to hang out and talk.

I close my door and lock it so no one can come in or eavesdrop on our conversations. I want to tell Kayla about Maui in private. My parents bedroom is downstairs so they most likely won't be coming upstairs. I plan on telling them as well when the time is right. I certainly don't want Kayla to tell them for me. Kayla and I sit on my bed. "Kayla, there's something I need to tell you, but you have to swear not to tell anyone." She raises an eyebrow. "I promise not tell anyone of what you're about to tell me." I take a shaky breath. "MauiandIaredating" I say in one breath. "Can you say that again? You're speaking too fast and I can't understand you." I force myself to look at her and clearly say "Maui and I are dating." Kayla spits out her water all over me. She looks at me in both shock at what I told her and horrified for spitting water all over me.

Kayla grabs some paper towels to wipe off some of it while saying "Oh my god, no way." I laugh nervously. "Yes way." "Since when?" "Since this afternoon. We had an intense moment after class this morning and I stayed after school so we could talk about it. In which, we set some ground rules, but yeah we're dating now." Kayla squeals and I put a hand over her mouth, not wanting her to peak my parents interest of where the noise is coming from. "Please don't tell anyone Kayla, especially not my parents. I'm going to tell them soon, but I want to be the one to tell them. I don't want anyone else getting to it before I do." Kayla smiles sincerely at me. "I think you're both wonderful people and make a cute people. I won't tell anyone. Besides, you I'm basically an introvert. Therefore, I don't have anyone to tell."

I breathe a sigh of relief, at the fact that not only is Kayla supportive of Maui and I, but also at the fact that I have one friend that I can trust to keep a secret.

Two hours later...

Kayla goes home and I have a little bit of alone time before bed. I go on my laptop and watch Grey's Anatomy on Netflix. I just started the episode and my phone vibrates next to me. I smile when I see Maui's name light up across it. I really need to take a picture of him sometime for his contact ID as well as for my own purposes. His text says the following: I've been thinking about you all evening. Hope you're having a good evening beautiful. :) My heart flutters at him calling me beautiful. I text him back the following: I am. I hung out with Kayla for three hours. I told her us about after dinner because you told me it was okay. It was okay for me to tell her right?

Maui responds with "Yes, it was okay for you to tell her." I breath another sigh of relief. I seem to be breathing a lot of those today. Maui and I continue to text back and forth for another two hours until exhaustion creeps up on me. "Hey Maui, I'm getting tired, but I'll see you in the morning. Good night love." My phone goes off a minute later. "Good night Moana. See you in the morning cutie." I smile and drift off to into a peaceful sleep, dreaming only of Maui.

Hope that you guys liked this part of this one shot! This one shot will probably be my longest one. I honestly have no idea how many parts I'll be writing for it yet.  :) -Mary
