One Shot #27 (Cont.)
Moana's POV
As I pull into Maui's mile long driveway, the size of the mansion blows my mind. I get out of my dump heap of a car, standing by it absolutely speechless. Adam chuckles. "I take it someone's impressed." I nod my head eagerly and he chuckles again. "Darling, you might want to close your mouth. If you leave it hanging open any longer, flies might make a home in there." I blush and begin unloading my stuff from the car. Adam unlocks the door and then comes back to help me carry things in. As I open the door, I'm even more speechless. The inside is just as beautiful as the outside. "Feel free to look around Moana. I'll bring the rest of the stuff in. I nod and begin giving myself a grand tour.
I navigate the mansion room by room. It takes me a half an hour just to take it all in. Not wanting to leave Adam hanging, I go back downstairs to help him with my stuff. "So Adam, what room is mine?" "You can have any room of your choosing. The master room is Maui's as you probably already saw." "I'll take the room next to his. That way if he needs anything during my shift or even after hours, I can get it to him quickly." Adam smiles. "Sounds like a plan."
We manage to get all of my things upstairs within a half an hour. "Adam you can go. I can unload everything by myself." He raises an eyebrow. "Are you sure? I don't mind helping." I smile at him. "You've been more than a help today. I appreciate it so much. I know you have to get back to work. I'll be fine here." "Alright well, good night Moana." "Good night Moana." I walk him down the stairs and see him to the door.
Once he's completely gone, I head back upstairs. The first thing I do is plug my phone in to charge and call up my principal. I leave him a voicemail telling him that I'm going to be out tomorrow but I'll be back on Tuesday. I also ask him to notify all of my teachers about this, not that any of them really care, but still. I just like being a decent human being to others, even if they don't do the same to me.
