The Devil With A Shotgun (Part 3)

One Shot #31 (Cont.)

Moana's POV

A week later...

My friend Margo decided it would be fun to drag me to a party since it's the weekend. I'm not against partying, but I'm not entirely into it. I just go now and then for her sake. She's my closest friend. I have two other friends, one being Patrick who has the same major as me and the other being Luciana in my dance class. I do dance on the side. It's a great outlet for my stress. Plus, I'm actually not too bad at it. In addition, I write for the online school paper. I think it's nice to be well rounded. It looks good on job applications as well.

I love Margo dearly, but I hate how wasted she allows herself to get at these parties. People constantly hand me drinks, though when they're not looking, I dump into a nearly plant, sink, or trash can. It all depends on what's closest to me. Most people at these parties are pretty nice, they just get a little carried away is all. Thankfully though, there haven't been any fights this year. Nothing scares me more at a party than a fight breaking out. Well that and/or a girl getting date raped by some sleaze.

Margo's about to pull me out to dance with her and some guys, but out of no where, I really strong arm grabs me from behind. I look up and recognize the guy instantly. It's the shooter from last week. I open my mouth to speak but he covers it. He leans down in my ear and whispers the following: "Come with me and no harm will be done to you or anyone else." I follow him without objection. Thankfully, he doesn't shove me into the car. I'm free to get in willing. Wow what a gentleman. When he gets in the car, I face him and ask him the obvious question. "What do you want from me?"

He looks at me as if I slapped him across the face. That pisses me off. He comes to my college, kills innocent people, and has the nerve to be offended. Like what the hell? "I wanted to get to know you." Now I take a turn to look at him, though my look screams "What are you, fucking insane?" "And why would I want to get to know a man who shoots and kills innocent people for his own pleasure? I'm not interested." I try to get out of the car, but he slaps my hand away from the door. I whimper a bit. "I swear I had reason for doing what I did." I cross my arms across my chest. "Oh yeah? What would that be?"

He sighs. "I applied to colleges a few years ago. Hadford University was one of many to reject me. It wasn't even getting rejected that hurt me as much as the way they rejected me. In an email, they told me that I'm one of the biggest dumbasses to apply to their college." I roll my eyes. "It's not their fault that you flunked in high school. You should have worked harder." He snarls at me. "I worked my FUCKING ASS OFF! Don't tell me I should have tried harder. You have no idea that shit I've been through in my life."

I glare at him. "I don't feel bad for you, though I do feel bad for your parents. I bet they're nice people who never asked to give birth to a such a cowardly villain." He leans in closer to me. "I'm not a villain." I laugh sadly. "Yes you are. Anyways, you need to leave because if you come after me aggressively like that again, I won't hesitate to call the police." "Look, here's my name and number. I'll leave you alone until you come to me." "And why would I do that?" He gives me a wicked grin. "Because I'm a man you'll eventually fall in love with." I roll my eyes. "Yeah I highly doubt that."

I look down at the paper and see that his name is Maui. What an interesting name for such an odd person. "Well bye Maui." I try to get out of the car but he grabs my arm once more, this time gently. "I didn't catch your name." "I didn't plan on giving to you." "Oooooo hard to get I see. I like that. See you around Mama." I fake gag at his ugly little pet name. I hate when guys call me that. I find it degrading.
