Moana's POV
Two days later...
Ariel and I heard about this amazing kingdom across the sea and we want to travel there. We're about to leave and our father comes out from behind a rock with his arms folded across his chest. His expression is smug. It's clear he's a little annoyed with us. "Girls, where are you off to?" I look down sheepishly, letting Ariel do the talking. "We're off to explore father. There's so much to the world and we want to see some of it." He grumbles. "It's not safe out there. You two really should stay here in our ocean kingdom." Ariel frowns. "Please allow us to do this father. We're both big girls now. We can handle ourselves out there. Plus, we have each other. We will stay safe." Seeing that he's not going to win this battle, he sighs. "Fine, but if you're gone for too long, I'm coming after you both." I grin at Ariel who grins back. Both of us rush to hug him. "Thank you father" we say in unison. He rolls his eyes. "Go before I change my mind." I burst into a giggle fit, but hug my father along with Ariel once more before we swim off to an unknown land.
Ariel's POV
A few hours later...
I pause and sit down on a rock to catch my breath. Moana looks at me in concern, but joins me on the rock. "So Ariel, how far is the kingdom you heard about anyway?" I bite my lip. "I believe it's a two day journey, more or less. Though, it's been a long day between packing and getting this far. Want to rest for a couple hours and then keep going?" Moana nods. "Sounds good Ariel." Both of lie down on a flat rock next to the rock we just sat down on a moment ago. Due to our mermaid tails, we have to adjust ourselves accordingly. In other words, it takes us a little while to fall asleep most nights.
