WYATT'S POV

The car ride was mostly silent, but I didn't blame him. It's been a long night for him. I reached my hand out hesitantly to comfort him and he grabbed my arm.

He held on tight and didn't let go until we were nearly at his place.

"Almost there, baby" I whispered.

"Wy, no, please, don't take me there" he pleaded.

"Okay, okay, I won't. Where do you want to go, Jae?" I cooed.

"Please, can we go to your place? I don't want to be alone"

"Of course we can. I won't leave you alone, I promise. Hang on"

I turned around and headed for my house. He snuggled into my arm and sighed contently.

"Thank you, Wy" he whispered. "You're so warm"

I looked at him and smiled as he got comfy and closed his eyes.

"Get some sleep, Jaeden. We'll be there soon"

I held him close and he slept quietly all the way home. I gently moved my arm and brushed the strands of soft brown hair from his emerald eyes.

"Jaeden," I whispered, "we're here"

He rose up slowly and rubbed his tired eyes. I smiled and climbed out of my car. I closed my door and walked to his side. I opened his door and picked him up before carrying him inside.

"I got you, baby" I whispered into his hair.

"I can walk, y'know" he teased.

"I know" I chuckled.

I set him down and he hugged me.

"Thank you, Wy. I think you just saved my life"

"Nobody touches my-" I stopped and sighed as I ran a hand through my curls. "Nobody hurts Jaeden Lieberher"

"Wyatt, can I ask you something?" he said bluntly.

"Anything" I answered.

"When we were together...did you love me?"

My eyes widened, and I took a step towards him.

"Of course I did, Jae. I loved you so much, and I still do"

"Then why did you cheat on me?" he queried softly.
