I took Mary back to my house after she was released. I let her borrow some clothes, even if they were a little big, and she changed into them after she showered. I was sitting on my bed when she walked out of my bathroom and looked at me and Meredith.

"Thanks for letting me stay here. I promise you I'll be good." She spoke, and I nodded.

"I don't doubt that, Mary. Come here." I spoke. She quietly walked over to where I sat, and she eyed my daughter.

"What's her name?" She questioned.

"Meredith. She's a little over four months old." I smiled.

"Adopted?" She questioned, and I shook my head.

"Nope. My husband and I had her. And we also have an adopted son, Christopher. He'll absolutely adore you." I smiled softly.

"How long can you two keep me? I don't want to impose and stay too long." She sighed.

"Don't you worry about that, alright? Now, the babysitter is going to stay with you and Meredith, alright? I have to head back and work on your case. If you need anything, just ask her or call me." I smiled. I stood up and laid Meredith in the bassinet before drawing Mary into a hug.

"Thanks, Olivia. Thanks so much."

"Here is where it happened." I breathed, as Fin and I drove towards the neighborhood where Mary was living before she was mugged and raped.

"And look who we have here." Fin sighed. He drove past where the group of boys was standing on the corner. We parked down the road and then walked down towards them. The boys were too busy smoking and laughing that they hadn't noticed us until I grabbed one of them by their jacket and slammed him against the light post.

"What the fuck?" A few yelled, and Fin pulled his gun on them as I handcuffed the one I decided to grab.

"You all, and I mean all of you, are under arrest for the rape and mugging of Mary Kirk," I spoke, and a few decided to take off as other police cruisers pulled up. I shoved the boy I had cuffed to an officer before taking after the group.

I was really thankful that I had been training to get back into the shape I was before I had Meredith because it just seemed a little easier to run after the bastards that hurt Mary.

The one boy that I was chasing after kept looking over his shoulder as he grew tired, so I moved just a bit faster and tackled him to the ground and three officers ran past me and caught the other boys.

God was it good to be back.

"They all want lawyers." Elliot sighed, as he sat at his desk across from Brian since Monique was officially done.

"They don't deserve lawyers. They raped Mary, and after all she has been through they deserve to rot in prison." I huffed, as I stood and walked over to the coffee pots. Elliot followed me and ran his hand over my back.

"What is it, Liv?"

"I'm attached to her." I sighed, as I turned to look at him.

"Took about the same amount of time it took you to get attached to Chrissy." Elliot smiled, and I nodded.

"Elliot, this is why I have a hard time fostering kids because even if we are just now starting to foster Mary, I've known her since the foster kid case. I just get attached to the kids and then I want to adopt them all." I sighed.

"You have a huge heart, Liv. And that's a reason why I love you. And every child you come in contact with is lucky because they get to have you on their side. We will help Mary until we cannot help her anymore." Elliot breathed, before leaning in and pecking my lips. He took my coffee and walked away as I sighed and watched.

[*]

Elliot and I left the precinct at around ten. I wanted to see all of the kids, but it was too late for the youngest two to be awake. Elliot went straight to our room while I went to the room I told Mary she'd be staying in. I opened the door slowly and heard Mary crying.

"Mary, are you okay?" I questioned as gently as I could.

"This is just a lot. I'm sorry." She whimpered. I walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge of it before gently pushing some of her hair away from her tear stained face.

"We arrested the boys today. They are staying in holding tonight, and then tomorrow we are going to see if they can make bail or not." I smiled.

"Really?"

"Yeah. If they decide to plead not guilty we will go to trial."

"No. No court. I can't do that! They will be thinking I asked for it because I'm a foster child!"

"Mary look at me."

"Olivia, I can't! They can't trust me if my own parents didn't even want me!"

"Mary look at me!" I said louder and with more conviction. Mary sat up and looked at me as tears ran down her cheeks.

"Olivia, please." She begged.

"You will be okay. Our ADA will help you practice so it won't be scary. And you don't have to worry about any of them getting to you because we will protect you. Everything will be okay. You will get the closure you deserve and they will be in jail. Okay?"

"Okay." She whispered. I pulled the girl close and hugged her warmly.

"Can you help me find a family too?" She questioned, her voice sounding so small and frail.

"Yeah. We will help you find a good family." I breathed.

[*]

I ended up sitting up with Mary until she was ready to go back to bed. I stayed and slept in the armchair in the corner. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I wanted her to have the feeling of safety and belonging while she is here and while we wait to see how her case turns out.
