Elliot's POV

Olivia slept like shit the night before, and she was in a very bad mood in the morning. I felt bad for leaving my kids there with her and leaving her with the kids since they had both been very unkind to her last night.

"Alright, kids... can you both just try and not do anything to make her more upset?" I asked as I turned my phone on. I looked over at my kids as they ate breakfast, but neither of them was looking at me.

"Christopher. Mary. Listen to me. I swear to God that both of you will be grounded for the rest of your lives if you make your mother upset again. If you talk to her with anything but respect, I will find out and you'll be in big trouble." I warned.

"Where are you going?" Mary asked, and I sighed.

"I'm going to check on your Aunt... See if she's okay."

"Dad, don't go over there," Mary spoke, as she quickly set her spoon down.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Gil is back," Chris whispered, and I swallowed hard.

"Don't tell your mother, okay? And just try and avoid her. I'll be back in a few hours. With your Aunt and your cousin. I'm not letting him get away with hurting her again." I sighed. I walked over and kissed the top of their heads, before grabbing my keys and walking out of the kitchen.

I drove and parked outside of Cynthia's apartment building. I could see Gil's red convertible down the road, and I wanted to go down and slash the tires but instead, I went upstairs and knocked on her apartment door. After a few moments, Cynthia opened it and eyed me cautiously.

"Elliot?" She whispered, and I frowned.

"Is he here?" I asked, and she bit her lip before shaking her head. I watched as her eyes filled with tears, and I drew her close. I held her for several moments before Max started to fuss. She pulled away from me and walked into the apartment to comfort her son, while I shut the door and locked it in every possible way.

I followed the sound of Cynthia's soft voice and sighed when I saw the bruise on the back of her neck, where her hair wasn't covering it since she had it pulled up.

"He's beating you now?" I asked quietly.

"Elliot, can Max and I come home? Please say yes." Cynthia whispered as she laid her son back in his crib.

"Our home is your home. Always." I replied.

"He's bad... really bad. He didn't even try to butter me up before stepping back into our lives. He just showed up and said he'd kill me if I didn't let him come back. The kids were here, and I just wanted them to not see me get hurt... He didn't hurt me when they were around so that is why I wanted them here all the time." Cynthia spoke. I looked at her for a long moment and saw the pain on her face that mirrors the pain on my wife's face.

"Liv wants you back. She hates that you left on such bad terms... And she's upset that she couldn't even tell you about the baby."

"Did she lose it?" Cynthia whimpered as tears welled in her eyes.

"No... It's okay. He is okay... We are having a boy." I smiled, and she started to cry. I hugged her again, and she clung to me.

"Gil won't be home for a while. Can you help me pack up so we can leave?"

"Does he have your car?" I asked, and Cynthia nodded.

"Yeah, so I can't drive away."

"I'll start taking apart the crib, you take Max out and lay him in the bouncer Liv got you. Then we can pack his stuff up then work on your stuff."

"Thanks, Elliot... I'm sorry I was so mean to you."

"Don't worry, Cy. It's no big deal."

Olivia's POV

The kids avoided me all day and even went to bed early. Like 7:30 instead of nine for Chris and ten for Mary. I put Meredith down at 8, and then I was alone until the front door opened. I walked out of the kitchen and looked at my sister standing there with Max's carrier in her hand.

"Cy?" I asked as tears welled in my eyes. She sat her son's carrier down on the floor before she quickly walked over to me and hugged me tightly.

"Gil came back... he's been hurting me and that is why I wanted the kids over so often because then he didn't hurt me. Elliot said that I could stay here... can I?" Cynthia asked, and I nodded quickly as I rubbed her back gently. I didn't know if she had bruises on her back and I didn't want to hurt her more than she already was hurting.

"Elliot, go arrest Gil," I spoke, and his eyes went wide as he sat down one of the suitcases.

"Liv-"

"I don't give a fuck if Munch didn't tell you too. Go arrest that bastard and make him pay for what he did to my sister." I ordered, and my husband nodded.

"Okay. I'll go get Fin and we'll go get him."

I helped Cynthia put all of her items back in the garage apartment. I was scared of having her staying up here alone, but I wasn't going to sleep until I knew Gil was in jail for at least the night.

"Elliot told me that you are having a boy... I bet that Chris is so excited." Cynthia said as she forced a smile, but it was shaky.

"Yeah, we are naming him Charlie. Charlie Caden Nathaniel Stabler. And before you say it, I know it's a big name for such a small baby... but Chris got angry when he didn't get to name his only baby brother." I replied.

"I'm sorry, Olivia. I'm sorry that I didn't want you and Elliot to get back together. I'm-"

"Stop apologizing. Okay? Let's just forget about it all. Now that you and Max are home, everything will get better."

"When we were apart, were you thinking about Mom? Both of our Moms who wanted us to be together and fight alongside each other?" Cynthia asked, and I frowned and nodded.

"I guess they can't tell us how to do that anymore, huh? I guess we just need to start sticking together and making sure that we are both happy and not getting hurt."
