The contractions were decently calm for most of the night. They were coming about an hour apart and I was surprised when I was able to sleep through a few of them during the night. We had to get up early because it was the first day of first grade for Christopher and we wanted him to have a nice breakfast and enjoy his morning before facing school again.

"Is Cy home?" I asked as I walked downstairs and into the living room. I worked on tying my robe around my waist as I walked but it was hard to concentrate on that and talking.

"Nope, she isn't. I'm assuming she crashed at Gil's house. How are you feeling?" He asked, as I grabbed a mug and started to make tea.

"Had another contraction while I was checking on Chris."

"How close now?" Elliot asked.

"About half an hour apart. Are you going to go to work or stay here with me?" I questioned, and Elliot smiled as he grabbed his phone.

"I'm going to call John right now. I'm getting a baby!" He smiled.

Elliot and I kept the fact I was in labor between each other. We made sure that Christopher didn't get worried on his first day of school. Chris wanted Serena to drop him off at school, so we said our goodbyes and sent him off.

"If Cy isn't home by the time we have to head off to the hospital, I'm going to call her so she can come home and shower before meeting us up there. And then I'm going to see if Fin can get Chris from school because we all know that Serena is going to want to be there with you." Elliot spoke, as he handed me one of his shirts. We hadn't packed a bag yet, so we were doing it now so when it was time to leave we could just go.

"You are planning more than I am." I smiled a bit, as I stood slowly and walked over to the bathroom.

"I'm having that preparental panic a bit. Like, we are having a baby. I know that we've had several months to plan for it, but it's just really real now. She's going to be here soon and I just can't wait to hold her in my arms and cuddle her close. And my god, she's going to be adorable." Elliot smiled. I walked out with my hairbrush and other items before putting them in the bag.

Elliot's watch beeped and I sighed.

"Another one." I frowned, and he nodded.

"Soon. I'm sorry you have to go through all of this pain." He sighed, and I shrugged.

"We get a baby. I'm willing to go through pain for her. And I had a lot of emotional pain to go through to get Chris."

Elliot took another shower because while he was making coffee, again, he spilled it all over himself and the smell of coffee was bothering me today. I was growing more nervous and Elliot was too. But it was almost noon and my sister wasn't home yet so I was worried.

I sat in one of the armchairs in the living room and held my phone to my ear as I waited for Cynthia to pick up my call.

But when it went to voicemail, I sighed.

"Okay, Cynthia Cragen, I need you to check your messages because I'm in labor. I don't know how long it will be before I have to head to the hospital, but I really need you to be ready to be there for me. I'm sorry that I may be ruining your two-day date... but I'm worried because I didn't think you'd be out this late. Alright, I love you, Cy. Just call me." I frowned.

"Still nothing?" Elliot asked as he walked downstairs in new clothes that didn't smell like coffee.

"Nope. I'm going to go talk to my mother. Tell her what has been happening and see if she heard from Cy."
