"Liv? What are you and Elliot doing here?" Mary asked as she walked towards us. We picked her up first because her high school got dismissed before Chris' school.
"Uh, we got into some trouble today at work. Well, Elliot got into trouble and I-"
"Liv, I may not know you 100%, but I'm kinda thinking you got in trouble." Mary smiled. I laughed softly as I pulled her into a hug. She didn't hug me back, because I was assuming she was confused.
"Is something else wrong?" Mary asked, once she finally hugged me back.
"I just love you, kid." I breathed, as I leaned back a bit and kissed her forehead. I watched as her cheeks grew red, but she was smiling.
"I love you too, Liv. And Elliot, you are pretty damn cool if you stayed with her."

Elliot and I had decided to not bring up the small attack I had at home. We didn't want to scare her into thinking the adoption might be halted because of our suspension.
We went and picked up Chris, who was so freaking excited to see us and to have us pick him up from school. Then we headed home and relieved our babysitter.
"So, what are we going to do tonight, Momma?" Chris asked as he shared my lap with Meredith. Our daughter had turned into a little butterball, and since she was just so squishy we all had a hard time not cuddling her all the damn time.
"Well, you both are going to do your homework after you finish your snacks, and then maybe your father and I will decide to feed you all and possibly some TV," I replied, which sent my son into a giggle fit. Sometimes I feel like he tries too hard to make me feel like I'm funny.
"Alright, finish your apples, Stablers," I spoke, which made Mary quickly look up from the phone we got her.
"Stablers?" Mary breathed, her voice barely above a whisper as I stood and rested Meredith on the top of my hip.
"Yeah, Stablers." I smiled.

The next couple of days were slow. Elliot used our time off to clean out the garage apartment since Cy moved out to live with Gil about a month after the new year.
While he did that, I worked with Meredith on sitting up easier and there was a lot of watching cartoons and I talked in that annoying baby voice and even when the older kids came home, I just couldn't seem to stop myself.
I needed to get back to work, and it had to happen now before I completely disappear into Mommy land.
"Oh, aren't you just the cutest." I smiled, as I sat on the floor next to Meredith, and reached over and tickled her belly a bit until she started to giggle.
"Oh, I know I am," Cynthia said in the squeaky voice that I had just used. I looked at my sister and smiled.
"Long time no see, twin," I spoke, after trying to clear my throat a bit to get my voice back to normal.
"Yeah, well work has been hard and living with a man who isn't either your husband or my nephew has been hard." She sighed.
"I know that when Elliot and I got married and got our apartment, he used that as an excuse to walk around our apartment naked and like he had me, so he decided to just be a slob because he knew I wasn't gonna leave him." I sighed, as I stood up and walked over to my sister.
I drew her into a hug before reached up and tugging on her short brown hair.
"This isn't acceptable, Cynthia." I frowned.
"It's getting in my way. Like from surgery to getting sick..." She sighed, as she walked over and sat beside Meredith. She drew my daughter onto her lap and covered her face in kisses as I just stood back and stared in confusion.
We barely see each other anymore, but something about that statement just confused me.
"Cy?" I questioned, and she yawned as she looked up at me.
"Yes, Liv?"
"Did you say getting sick?"
"Yeah. It's been very shitty these past few weeks. But I'm dealing with it. Why?"
"You've been with Gil for six months and you haven't realized that sex leads to little miracles like the one you are cuddling?" I asked, and my sister ignored me.
"Cy!"
"Okay, so I may possibly be pregnant. But Liv, we've only been together for a little under half a year! I can't have a kid with him yet. And I'm gonna be pissed off at Trojan for having a condom break once and led me to be pregnant." She frowned. I walked over and sat beside her. I ran my hand over her arm gently before kissing her cheek gently.
"You know, it would be kinda cool. Like, Meredith would have a cousin close to her age. And since I'm not getting sick, that means I can help you. Like you helped me." I smiled, and my sister nodded a bit. She swallowed hard, but her silence didn't make it any less noticeable that she was freaking out inside.
"C'mon. Let's go give Meredith to Elliot, and you and I can go out and get a test and we can figure this out together, okay?"
"God, I'm scared that Gil won't want it." She whispered, as she finally broke.

My week got a little more interesting when the test came back positive. I hated that my sister was so upset about it, but I was a little upset when I found out about Meredith. But, I learned that Elliot and I were meant to have that little girl, and I wouldn't trade her for the world. And I know, that in a few short months that actually feel like years, my sister would feel the same in regards to the baby she was going to have with Gil. And if he really loves my sister, he'll still love her and their child.
"Can't I just move her into your Mom's room?" Elliot yawned, as we made up the pull-out couch. My sister had fallen asleep in our bed when we had been talking, and she hadn't been sleeping so I didn't want to wake her up.
"No. We can't. For one, I promised Serena that we wouldn't go into her room while she was on that retreat thingy. Also, she's exhausted. Baby, she hasn't slept in a couple of days and she just needs to sleep, okay?"
"Sure, but when can I find out why your sister is sleeping in our bed and not at home with her boyfriend?" Elliot asked.
"When I tell you, Stabler. So lose the sass and sleep. I had forgotten how whiny you get when you are sleepy."
