a month later
AMELIAS POV
I was sitting in my office filling out some charts when the door opened.
"Hey," I smiled to see my husband.
"Hey," he said and sat down, "I have an idea."
"Alright," I said.
"One word," he said, "Road trip."
"That's two but okay," I chuckled.
"Anyway," he said, "what do you think?"
"Where to?" I said.
"The beach," he said.
"You want to take a road trip to the beach, with a 7 year old, a 1 year old, and a 5 month old?" I chuckled.
"An almost 2 year old," he chuckled.
"Are you crazy?" I chuckled.
"Oh come on, don't be your worrying self for once, it's only a 3 to 4 hour trip," he said.
"The beach would be fun," I said.
"So is that a yes?" He said.
"It's a maybe, but Noah can't be in the sun for too long, and he's going to cry a bunch," I said.
"Well we have sunscreen and can buy him one of those bucket hats to protect his little face," Owen said.
"It does sound nice," I said.
"And look at the view form this hotel room," he said.
"You went hotel looking?" I chuckled and took the phone from him.
"Ooh it is a nice view," I said.
"So are you convinced?" He said.
"When would we go?" I said.
"We can go next week," he said, "Monday through Thursday."
"Sounds like someone already has it planned," I laughed.
"Bailey already approved the time off," Owen said.
"Okay," I smiled, "sounds like a fun trip." He smiled and I got up and sat down on the couch in my office.
"Come here," I said. He laid down next to me and I smiled. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I giggled.
"You're the best," I said and pecked his lips.
"No that's you," he said.
OWENS POV
I picked up Kamryn from school today and we were going home to Amelia, Ellie, and Noah.
"How was school?" I asked as we got in the car.
"It was good," she said.
"What did you do today?" I asked.
"Writing," she said, "see?"
"Kammie I'm driving," I chuckled, "can you show me when you get home?"
"Yeah," she nodded. I drove home and parked in the driveway and got out. I opened the door and Kamryn and I came inside. She handed me a paper with a bunch of written words on it.
"Good job," I smiled, "this looks so good."
"Thanks daddy," she smiled.
"Hey!" Amelia said as she came down the stairs. She was holding Ellie and Noah and I smiled.
"Hey," I said and kissed her cheek.
"Daddy!" Ellie smiled and reached for me. I picked her up and smiled.
"Did you have a good day here with mommy and Noah?" I asked.
"Yes," Ellie smiled, "mommy bwing me home and we watch tv!"
"That's awesome," I smiled and held her.
"Kammie how was school?" Amelia asked.
"It was good, look at all my words!" Kamryn giggled.
"Oh my gosh you wrote all this? That's awesome!" Amelia smiled, "Noah look how well your big sister can write."
"Mommy can I have goldfish?" Kamryn asked.
"Sure make sure you wash your hands," Amelia said. We all went into the kitchen and Amelia put Noah in his highchair.
"So mommy and I have news," I said and looked at Amelia.
"We're going on a road trip," Amelia smiled, "to the beach!"
"Really?" Kamryn smiled.
"Yup," Amelia said.
"Now?" Kamryn asked.
"In a few days," I chuckled.
"Beach?" Ellie said.
"Yup, it's like a swimming pool, but with sand," I chuckled.
"Cool," Ellie said.
AMELIAS POV
Owen was so excited and it was honestly so cute. Noah and Ellie were already sleeping and I was tucking Kamryn into bed while Owen showered.
"Mama?" Kamryn said.
"Yes honey?" I said as I sat at the edge of her bed.
"What's the beach like?" Kamryn asked.
"Well it's just like the movies. All the sand that you can dig in, build castles, find shells. The ocean where you can swim," I said, "it's a lot of fun."
"Are there fishies in the ocean?" Kamryn asked. I nodded.
"Yup, but they won't bother you," I said.
"Have you ever been to the beach?" She said.
"I have," I said, "and I know you'll love it."
"My first time going to the beach," she said, "I'm excited."
"Me too," I smiled, "it's going to be so much fun."
"Yeah," she said and hugged me, "Goodnight mommy."
"Goodnight Kammie," I said and kissed her cheek.
"Can you send daddy in to say goodnight?" She asked.
"Yup, he'll be in in a few minutes baby," I said. I tucked her in and walked into Ellie's room. She was fast asleep in her crib and I made sure the baby monitor was still on. In a few months we could upgrade her to a toddler bed. That was crazy. All my babies were growing up so fast. It wasn't fair. I want them all to stay little forever. I walked back into our bedroom and Owen walked out of the bedroom in his pajamas.
"Hey Kamryn wants you to go say goodnight," I said as I pecked his lips.
"Okay," he said, "I'll be back."
"Sounds good," I smiled as I kissed his lips quickly. He smiled as he walked out the door. I laid down in bed and snuggled into my pillow. Owen came back and laid down next to me and snuggled into my back.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too," I smiled, we snuggled into each other as we both peacefully drifted off to sleep.
