Nikki's POV, August 27th 1995

Since we cleaned out Skylar's room, Vince and I have actually tried to reacquaint ourselves with each other again, catching up on things again. It was awkward when we first had a proper one on one conversation without Y/N around but we fell back into our old dynamic pretty quickly.

I ended out staying for dinner that night seems as the kids were being babysat by Y/N's parents, and I got a change to talk to Vinnie then. I lost count of the amount of times I apologised to him but I felt like I had too keep saying sorry, I treated him like shit.

To try and further help Vin out and continue to make up for my many mistakes, I'd actually said he can stay at our house for a while instead of Y/N staying with him, it would give her more peace of mind and would do for me too and it can't do Vince any harm.

He'd come over here earlier with Y/N with a decent amount of clothes, he can stay for as long as he wants, it's the least I could do for him. When I told Blaze Uncle Vince was staying with us for a while I don't think I've ever seen him look so happy, he literally got up this morning at the crack of dawn waking me up at half six, literally just as I'd gotten back to sleep from tending to Zeta with Blaze asking when Vince was getting here.

When I did get up, our eldest sat by the front window and watched for any car that drove past waiting for Vince's to appear, even when I told him Vin and Y/N wouldn't be here until the afternoon he wouldn't leave the window, he ate there and wouldn't move for anything.

I let him sit there and wait, it wasn't doing any harm to anyone.

That meant though when Vince and Y/N pulled up I knew about it, Blaze instantly excitedly yelled that they were here before running to the front door and attempted to open it but couldn't quite manage it because the chain lock was a too high for him to reach.

Of course I had to get up and unlock the door for Blaze who ran straight outside to Y/N and Vince, going straight to the singer and hugging his legs. I couldn't help but smile and when Vince caught my gaze he nodded to me in acknowledgment and I nodded back.

Upon entering the house, Y/N went upstairs with Vince's stuff to put into the guest bedroom and to see Nico and Zeta both of whom were asleep upstairs. Blaze wouldn't leave Vince alone and I thought he'd probably want some space so I told Blaze to go to his room and draw for a while which he did begrudgingly.

I then made coffee for all of us and by the time I was done with that Y/N was back downstairs sat next to Vince with Zeta. Vince hasn't seen that much of her really because of everything that's been going on, he had met her before twice but hadn't had many other opportunities to see her up until this point.

It must be hard for him to see her because he'd just lost his daughter but it never flagged on his face so maybe it didn't bother him, I didn't know.

We sat and drank our coffee watching some TV for a bit then picking out a movie and by the time that was done with two hours later Y/N put Zeta back upstairs as she was starting to make a fuss returning downstairs to make dinner for everyone.

This left Vince and I alone and not to just sit watching the TV not talking, I chose to talk "How's your day been?"

"Other than being here?"
