Y/N's POV, May 21st 2004

There was good news on the Mick front, he'd accepted the hip replacement surgery a few days after the meeting and actually had it done a few days ago, and was discharged last night from hospital as he said he's rather be at home than stuck in a hospital room and I totally got that, having been in one multiple times, they weren't comfortable or pleasant.

He seems to be okay when he rang me when he got home, he sounded tired as I doubt he got much sleep but other than that he seemed okay, I promised him when I spoke to him that Nikki and I would visit him today and that's exactly what we're doing.

Nikki and I dropped the kids off at my parents house as it was a weekend and now we were making our way to the guitarists place.

As for the band, Tommy was enjoying the new tracks, he saw what Vince and Nikki had made with them and actually enjoyed what they'd done and I think that made Vince a little more comfortable because Tommy actually didn't complain about something which Vince had worked on for once in a long time.

He had enjoyed recording his bits for the single 'If I Die Tomorrow' which was a good sign. Nikki and Tommy had recorded their bits for that song and Vince had down some guide vocals and he and Nik also put together a guide guitar track together for Mick to base his guitar off of when he came to record when he felt up to it.

It was strange not being in the studio at the same time but we had to go around Tom's schedule and we're also making sure Tommy and Vince are kept separate as much as possible to make them both feel comfortable though we had a group session in a little over a week.

I wasn't worried to see Mick, I was a lot less worried about him now he's had this procedure and prayed that it did improve his mobility so he could be more comfortable because it was his pain when walking which really sent him spiralling, hopefully now he can get himself back into a better mental state.

When we got to Mick's, Nikki pulled up next to Mick's car and we exited the vehicle and went up to his front door, knocking then I just tried to door and it opened without an issue because it saved Mick getting up from wherever he was "Mick?" I called as I open the door.

"I'm here." He said from the living room, so I stepped further into the house with Nikki close behind, shutting the door after we entered.

I went into the living room and went to the couch, kissing Mick's cheek and sitting next to the older man with Nik sitting next to me but he offered his hand to Mick before he did "Sup, man, good to see you."

"And you, Nik, it's been a few weeks, everything okay with you?"

"Great, it's all good. What about you, how you holding up being part terminator?"

"Funny." The guitarist spoke dryly then following that up with an actual answer to the question asked "I'm kinda uncomfortable but I can already feel a difference, I'm glad I listened to Y/N."

"See?" Nikki hummed "Y/N has never given bad advice, we should take everything she says as the gospel."

"I'm not a messiah, Nik."

"Yes, you are. You always have been to me." Nikki answers sounding sure of himself.

Mick gagged over-dramatically "I thought after so long you two would get less sickening and say less sickening things, how's it possible that you're still as insufferably in love as you were when I first met you?"
