Y/N's POV, September 27th 2002

Because Nikki and I hadn't really done anything as a couple in a little while now Nikki had a grand plan to take me on a lunch date today while the kids were at school up on our spot in the hills.

We'd gotten ready to go out just last eleven, having been watching TV since returning from the school run and by the time midday rolled around, we were both dressed and had lunch prepared which consisted of bags of chips and sandwiches that Nik and I had made in the last ten minutes.

The sandwiches were placed into a little picnic basket we owned and we grabbed a full bottle of soda from the fridge packing it inside the basket, once that was done I cast my eyes to Nikki "Is that everything?"

"Unless you plan on having a banquet then I'm fairly certain that's everything we're going to need."

"Can you not be sassy or sarcastic for one minute?"

"I can't change my personality whenever you want me too. It doesn't work that way, Angel."

"I wish it did, I used to hate smartasses when I was a teenager, how come I ended out marrying one?"

"You can't help who you fall in love with." Nikki grins, pecking me on the cheek "Let's take that to the car and shove it in the trunk and go."

I agreed with that suggestion and I picked up the basket as Nik heads to the front door and walked out of it waiting for me to leave before closing and locking it. I got to the car, put the basket in the trunk and then slipped into the passenger seat as Nikki climbed into the drivers side and started driving us to our destination.

The familiar car ride to the hills was always a nice one to make because it was always associated with me and Nikki and our relationship, every trip we made on this route made me feel like I was coming here with Nikki for the first time, it made my heart flutter and my body feel fuzzy, it always had and I wasn't ever sure exactly why but I liked the feeling.

The traffic wasn't too bad when we were driving up so didn't take too long and when Nikki and I finally got to our usual spot, I got hit with a wave of nostalgia, although we come here once a year, maybe once every couple of years depending on schedules I still get nostalgic over this spot.

I slowly opened the car door after I'd unbuckled my seatbelt and got out the vehicle, looking around the area mainly incase there was anyone else lingering around which there wasn't and seeing if anything had changed and it hadn't which was pretty obviously but I still felt the need to check.

"What's up?" Nik asked as he saw me looking around, retrieving the basket from the trunk.

Before I replied I walked to the grass directly in eyeline of the view and gave Nikki his answer when he sat himself next to me a few seconds later "Nothing's up, it feels like forever since we were last here, that's all." I said as I looked over LA, it wasn't as beautiful as at night but it was still a sight to behold.

"It's been a while... we keep saying we need to get up here more but never actually get around to it."

"It's called having a life, plans usually go out the window." I chuckle "I don't think we've ever stuck to any promises we've made when it comes to stuff like this, we said we'd go on vacation more and we haven't ever stuck to that."
