Y/N's POV, May 24th 1999

It was Nikki and I's tenth wedding anniversary today, and it started off as a pretty average day, Nikki dropped Blaze off at school this morning then Nico and Zeta off at pre-school, only doing it because he insisted on it telling me not to leave the bedroom under any circumstances until he tells me I can. I listened and stayed put and when he got back, he made me breakfast and ran me a bath which was sweet.

Nikki was always sweet to me but this was totally unprovoked, I felt like I should be doing something for him but he told me I didn't and that he just wanted to do things for me and wanted nothing in return.

I'd pay him back someway though.

After I'd had my bath, I got into some casual clothes and a couple of sprays of perfume and joined Nikki downstairs, not before grabbing him his anniversary card from our bedroom. We'd said that we weren't doing presents as we couldn't buy each other anything more important or worth the equivalent of what we meant to one another so cards are the only thing we can give and even that seemed kinda irrelevant but we decided to give them anyway.

We were going out for a meal tonight so my parents were picking up the kids later on this afternoon and having them for the night though Blaze might end up going to Vince because that's where he said he'd rather be, which was kinda a middle finger to my parents but I mean, he didn't mean it in a nasty way, he just really loved his Uncle Vince, which given my love for the blonde never has been surprising.

Wherever Blaze ended up going, it wasn't here tonight so we didn't have to worry about getting home later tonight, we could take as long as he wanted which I believe Nikki is taking advantage of by taking us up to our spot in the hills, to do what? I didn't know, all I knew is that it involves expensive champagne and probably sex because it's Nikki and he's that kinda guy. It wasn't the first time we'd done it there after all.

Once I was downstairs and next to Nikki on the couch, he got up and went and made us a couple of jack and cokes before returning over, passing me the glass "Thank you." I smiled.

Nik nodded and went to sit down but as he did he actually ended out putting his face near the crook of my neck and inhaling... he sniffed me.

What the hell?

My head turned towards the man and I furrowed my eyebrows ".... did-... did you just sniff me?" I ask my husband in immense confusion.

Nikki smirked and shook his head "No, what kinda weirdo do you take me for?"

"The type that sniffs people for no apparent reason... Nik? Are you okay?" I ask joking but also kind of serious.

"I'm fine."

"Then why sniff me?"

"I wasn't." he defends smirking "I was just admiring your scent."

"Exactly by sniffing me like a dog."

"Not quite like a dog... and I didn't sniff you, it was just a prolonged inhale."
