Y/N's POV, August 11th 2004
It was the recording for the music video for 'If I Die Tomorrow', we all were excited about today, the last time we'd all been together was for a photoshoot last week and it would be nice to work on a music video again. I liked watching them be filmed, I'm not sure why but I've always loved the atmosphere on the sets of music videos.
This song was definitely my favourite Mötley Crüe song to date, I'm not sure why there's just something about it that made me fall in love with it.
In the end, the recording sessions to do the new tracks had gone well, 'If I Die Tomorrow' had been our priority because of the video today and we still hadn't totally finished finishing touches on the other tracks yet, some might not even be included but Nikki's wrote a couple of new tracks the last month or so just so we have more songs in case we need them.
But the main focus was today, the concept of this video was that the video was to showcase a moment in their lives which made them feel like they were dying or where they were close to death to fit the lyrics in the song. Nikki's was his overdose, Vince's was the crash with me and Razzle and Mick's was his AS diagnosis and Tommy's was his prison sentence in 1998.
I was also involved in the video as the 'spectator', I guess, trying to save or prevent the events which are depicted in the video, originally the role was going to be given to some actress but Nik then had the idea to put me in her place and so that's what happened.
He said it was more appropriate because I was involved with Vince's crash, I was there when Nikki OD'd, I supported Mick and made him get help for himself with his back and I helped Tommy out with his mental health when he got out of prison.
Nikki obviously told the other guys of his idea and like usual they all forced me into it because they're all assholes.
Though I was privileged that they wanted me starring in this video given they could have gone with a pretty actress like they originally thought. Ever since the early days of the band I'd been asked to be in their music videos if a lady was needed but the only time I accepted was 'Girls, Girls' Girls' and I don't count when I actually was featured in 'Wild Side' and 'Same 'Ol Situation' when I still did backing dancing for the guys because they were live videos done during tours and that wasn't the same thing to me.
I wouldn't have agreed to this video either but I did see Nik's point. I was with them and helped them through the toughest parts of their lives if anyone was to be in this video filling the female lead position it was me.
There was a buzz on the set, a buzz which hadn't been around in a while, or it was more apparent than usual at the very least. Nikki and I had arrived on set first, then Mick, then Vince and Tommy turned up last though still on time, Nikki got us here early as he wanted too watch everything and make sure it was all being set up perfectly wanting this comeback video as good as it can be.
It took near an hour between when Tommy arrived to when filming for the video was about to start, Vince's part of the video was being filmed first, then Nikki's because they will take the longest to shoot, they were the hardest to film due to what was in there scenes.
