Y/N's POV, July 11th 2000

Today was the new tattoo album release party and everyone was coming over to Nikki and I's place, again. Our house seemed to be the first choice parties, maybe because we had a lot of open space but regardless of the reason, we had a lot of people in the house right now.

My parents, like usual, were looking after the kids and Nikki and the other guys were around chatting with the people here, even Tommy was here but I hadn't seen much of him yet, I'd been talking to Vince for a while so hasn't seen if he'd spoken to Tommy yet and seems as Nikki was talking in depth right now with someone and I didn't want to interfere.

I only ended my conversation with Vince a few minutes ago because I did want to find Tommy so I've spent the last few minutes looking for him, he wasn't anywhere downstairs, outside, front or back. It was almost like he'd vanished but I still had upstairs to check.

I took my feet from outside back through the front door and started immediately ascending the staircase to make my way to search the upstairs to make sure he wasn't up here. If he wasn't up here then he'd probably left but that wouldn't make sense as his car was still on the driveway outside.

Luckily, I located Tommy pretty quick when I started going up the stairs, because he was sat up there on the turn to get onto the second floor, on the very top step staring at the wall opposite him. At least I'd found him.

"Here you are, I've been looking for you all over the damn place."

Tommy tore his eyes from the wall and smiled a little "I'm like a chameleon, I blend into my surroundings."

"You're not blending very well, sorry to say... I found you... eventually. Is it just me or are you avoiding everyone here?" I wondered towards Tommy, sitting beside him.

"It's not just you." The man said honestly "I was all up for being here then when I got here... I dunno... guess I don't feel like a deserve to be here, I didn't do anything for this album."

"But you're still our friend, you're still involved in the band, T."

"Still... I didn't contribute anything so technically I shouldn't be here, ain't got nothing to celebrate."

"Just because you didn't contribute anything doesn't mean you shouldn't be here. Nikki wanted you here because you're our best friend besides, you came here for a reason didn't you? Then, enjoy yourself, have some fun. Have you spoken to Nikki yet?"

"Yeah, a little bit... he's glad I came."

"So am I." I tell the drummer "Look, you have as much right to be here as anyone else. Don't look so sad... has anything happened to make you that way or were you sad one day and the wind changed direction making you permanently look like a kicked puppy?"

"No... nothings happened I was fine earlier... I don't really know, I just feel weird being here now... being around all you guys, I feel out of place and I don't like it... you're my family, y'know? And it feels like I'm shoved out to the side but I made that choice, I can't really say anything."

"Nothing else has changed... you're out the band, nothing else has changed, our friendships haven't, the book you're all working on is proof of that isn't it?"
