Niall and Kristyn had been dating for quite a while, but they were faced with a huge challenge- a long distance relationship. Niall and Kristyn longed to see each other again, and planned every possible time out that they could. Their next reunion wasn't too far ahead, because Niall was coming to Nashville on his "Nice To Meet Ya," tour, and they would finally be able to see and hug each other once again. They were counting down the days longingly, and they were both extremely excited...that was until the outbreak of Coronavirus swept the world, and it was extremely threatening. Niall had met with his team, and they tried to push off cancelling the tour as late as they could, but unfortunately, the virus was only getting worse. After a long phone call with his management, they decided it was going to be best for the safety and health of everyone if they cancelled. Niall's heart dropped at the thought, but he knew it needed to be done.
Niall dreaded annoucing the tour was being cancelled. He paced the floor back and forth, and kept having a hard time hitting the post button to his social media, but finally took a breath and clicked the button. After gathering himself for a second, he decided he needed to call and tell Kristyn before she found out from social media, and not from him first. He scrolled through and found her contact, and hesitantly hit the call button. After a few rings, Kristyn answered. "Hey babe!" she said happy to talk to her boyfriend. "Hey babe," he sighed at her voice. "...long day?" Kristyn asked confused at his tone. Niall never sounded glum over the phone, but today she could tell something wasn't right. "Yeah," he said as he gathered up the nerve to tell her what happened. "Wanna talk about it?" Kristyn offered as she sat down on her couch to listen. "Well, babe...we had to cancel tour today," he said feeling horrible. The two sat in silence for a few seconds, and Niall heard Kristyn's sniffles from the other end of the phone. "Oh babe, please don't cry! It's going to be okay, I promise," Niall did his best to comfort her. "No, Niall. I have no idea at all when I'm going to be able to see you again. It's going to be a while," Kristyn argued as the tears continued to stream down her face. "We will see each other soon, I promise," Niall tried to encourage, but Kristyn didn't believe it. "Let's face it. We have no idea when this is going to end. I don't want to get my hopes up, because I don't honestly think I'm going to see you anytime soon," she said as more tears ran down her face. "I'm really sorry, babe," Niall said heartbroken too. They talked for a while longer, and Niall tried to calm Kristyn down, but it didn't work. After they said their goodbyes, Kristyn went straight to her bedroom to lay down. Kristyn got worked up again as tears cascaded down her face, she grabbed the Niall pillow that Niall had gotten her, and she held it close as she let out her emotions.
Three months passed, and Niall and Kristyn talked everyday, but it wasn't really helping very much. The two of them were missing each other extremely badly, and it was becoming harder and harder for the two of them to endure. One day after talking to Kristyn, Niall decided that he couldn't deal with the separation any longer, he had to get to Kristyn. He sat for several minutes deciding what to do, and he decided to text her parents and get a plan together. They gathered a plan to surprise her, and the moment the ban was lifted off Nashville, Niall had a flight there. Niall got anxious and excited as he got closer to her parent's house where Kristyn lives, but he couldn't wait to see her reaction. He finally pulled up to the house, and thanked the taxi driver as he gathered his belongings and headed toward her front door. Niall steadied his breathing, and then rang the door bell. "Kristyn, can you go get the door, please?" her mom asked from the kitchen smiling because she knew what was about to happen. "Sure!" Kristyn said getting up to go get the door. As Kristyn opened the door, it took her eyes several seconds to adjust to who she was looking at. There stood Niall with a bouquet of blue roses. "Niall?" she asked as she stood in complete shock for several seconds and started crying as she thought "this can't be real." Niall immediately embraced her in a huge hug, and he kissed her. "What are you doing here?" Kristyn asked still in shock causing Niall to laugh. "I had to see my girl. I have another surprise for you. I have a picnic planned for us, since all the restaurants are still closed," Niall smiled. "Okay!" Kristyn said grabbing her belongings, and heading to the picnic.
"Here we are," Niall said as they sat down on the blanket. "It's such a pretty evening," Kristyn said as she took in her surroundings. "It is!" Niall agreed as he laid out everything. After a few minutes, Niall started singing "Black and White," to Kristyn. Kristyn listened as her boyfriend serenaded her. She loved nothing more than to hear Niall sing. "So I have-um, I have something to ask you?" Niall said after he finished singing. "What's that, babe?" she asked as she saw his hands start to fidget. "Well, I-um..I can't deal with this long distance anymore. So, I uh-talked to your parents, and umm-I-I, they said we-we cou-," Niall stuttered out nervously, and Kristyn kissed him causing him to relax instantly. "Okay, try again," Kristyn smiled as she felt Niall calm down. "Okay, I was saying, I talked to your parents about it, and they agreed that if you wanted, you could move in with me in London. So will you?" Niall finally got out, and Kristyn was taken aback. She didn't answer right away, because she was shocked at the question. "But wait," he said before he got worked up again. Niall sat up so he could get on one knee. Kristyn's eyes grew wide as she realized what he was doing. Niall pulled a small box out of his pocket, and opened it to reveal the most beautiful light blue sparkly engagement ring Kristyn had ever seen. "Will you marry me?" Niall said looking into Kristyn's eyes. "Y-yes! Of course! To both!" Kristyn said as Niall pulled her into a giant hug. "I love you so much!" Niall said as they held each other close. "I love you too!" Kristyn said as they soaked up every second of the moment as they watched the sun go down, and would later go back and start packing Kristyn's stuff up to move to London as an engaged couple.
