It had been a week since Brianna's surgery, and she had healed great! It was just in time for her three month dental appointment with Kendall. When everyone moved out from the house and the band split, Kendall had taken it upon himself to help Brianna get over her fear of the dentist. He started by doing weekly planned appointments, and as she grew more confident, they spaced them out monthly. Now, they had been able to do three month increments without Brianna losing that confidence in between, and she would only get nervous now at the three month mark, so it was still a work in progress, but it worked well for them. Kendall had been adamant on making sure she was completely comfortable, and only doing things as she wanted, and making sure she knew everything he was doing, he didn't force anything on her at any point, and it worked out great. They had planned James to help out with this appointment though, and this was the first time in two years that James would be giving her dental work too. "Ready to have your appointment?" Kendall asked Brianna as she walked down the stairs, and she nodded. She felt the familiar nerves starting to make their way into her body, but she took a breath like Kendall had taught her to try and suppress them. "You're going to do great!" Kendall said. He knew she would be getting really nervous around that time, so they invited Logan and Katelyn Tarver, Kendall's girlfriend, along.
Brianna was a little nervous about what would be found at this appointment, because she had been dealing with some mouth pain, and that added to her stress. "Okay, Brianna!" James said as they leaned the chair back. Kendall put some gloves on, and Logan and Katelyn sat on the other side of the room and gave her some encouraging words. "So, we will just start out with a basic exam like always," Kendall said knowing that was the best way to get Brianna fully relaxed and trusting him. "Have you had anything going on? Pain, anything?" James asked and Brianna thought about whether she should tell them her mouth had been hurting or not, but decided it would be for the best. "My mouth has been sore," she said and they nodded. "It's probably a mix of things. You haven't really been able to talk or anything much this week because of your recovery, so that could of definitely had an affect on your jaw muscles and stuff," Kendall said and Brianna nodded as he felt her jaw. "Bite for me," Kendall said sticking his fingers on either side of her jaw. "Okay, bite down on my fingers," he said and he could feel how tense her muscles were in her jaw. "I'm pretty positive that's exactly what it is. You wanna feel?" he asked James and James nodded and had her repeat the motion. "Yes, definitely," James agreed, and that made Brianna feel better. "Okay, so we just have to massage your jaw, and that'll make the pain go right away," Kendall smiled and Brianna sighed in relief. "Okay, little massage. It may be a little sore, but your muscles will open up as we go along," James said and they massages her jaw until it relaxed. "Great, Brianna!" Kendall said and gave his sister a reassuring smile.
"Alright, time for the exam!" James said and they looked around Brianna's mouth. "Ah, so you have a tiny little cavity right here," Kendall said and tapped her tooth with his tool. "It won't even have to be numbed!" James said and Brianna liked that, because that meant no shots. "Okay, so really easy procedure!" Kendall said and he sat out the tools they would need. "Okay, just remember what we always do, just relax for us and we will have this done in no time," Kendall instructed and Brianna nodded and did as she was told. They worked and the tiny cavity was finished in no time. "Great! You're all done!" Kendall said after the got done, and they were so proud of her. She was really doing well getting over her fear, and she had been a trooper through it all. "Thanks guys!" she said as she sat up from the chair. "No problem, sis!" James and Kendall said, and they went back home to enjoy a Big Time Rush marathon.
