Hope you are all well! Much love!Daniel Seavey was a dad of five-year-old twins Zach and Jonah, as well as five-month-old twins Corbyn and Jack. It took him a good few minutes to get all of his kids settled in at the doctors, and then they waited to be called back. Unfortunately for Daniel, Zach and Jonah already were panicked a little because they knew where they were, so he was having to try and balance watching two babies and comforting his two older children. Luckily, Corbyn and Jack were asleep in their car seats, but it was only a matter of time that the single day would be dealing with four crying kids. He knew they were due for shots, but they didn't, and he felt awful they were having to get them. "Seavey kids?" a nurse said coming to the door, and Daniel grabbed the two car seats with the sleeping babies as he made sure that Zach and Jonah were following the nurse.
They got put into a room, and Zach and Jonah were sat on the bed while Daniel made sure the babies stayed asleep for as long as possible. "So, how are we doing? Are we eating good and getting plenty of exercise?" the nurse asked as she grabbed their files. "They are! Zach and Jonah play soccer, and they really love fruits and vegetables. The five-month-olds are getting plenty of bottles, and I am slowly integrating solid foods in," he explained and she nodded. "Great! The doctor will be in shortly!" she said after asking all the questions she needed and doing what she needed to do prior to the doctor coming in. "Daddy, are we getting shots?" Jonah asked nervously as he sat on the bed, and luckily the doctor walked in before Daniel had to answer. "Hi everybody! Oh my goodness, you guys have gotten so tall since I last saw you!" she sad washing her hands. Zach and Jonah laughed at her as she approached them. "How are we doing dad?" she said reading over their charts the nurse had updated. "Good! Everyone is doing great!" he answered, and she smiled. "Great! No questions, concerns, health related things we need to address?" she asked continuing to look over their charts. "No, ma'am. I think everyone is doing great!" he said and she nodded. "That's great! Let's get checking then!" she said as she walked over to the oldest set of twins, and took off her stethoscope. She checked their hearts and lungs, she checked their ears, eyes, and mouths, and everything else she needed to. "Okay! Let's get the little babies up here," she said and Daniel lifted Zach and Jonah off the bed, and then grabbed Corbyn and Jack from their car seats. She checked them over, and they were completely healthy. "Okay! Everyone seems to be perfectly healthy and developing great! I'll be right back," she said, and Daniel knew that she was getting the shots.
Before the kids could start asking more questions, Daniel decided to distract them by singing "the wheels on the bus" for fun. Corbyn and Jack had already drifted back off to sleep, and that made us easier on Daniel when the doctor came back in. She had luckily laid something over the trays where the boys couldn't see the shots, and then she looked over at Daniel. "Okay dad, I want you to grab Zach and have him lay down. I want you to hold his hands with one arm and his legs with the other," she instructed, and Daniel lifted Zach and made rocket noises to make him laugh as he lifted him up and laid him down. "What are we doing?" Zach asked as Daniel assembled the position he was told. The doctor had came back over, and before Zach noticed what was going on, she had stuck the first needle in which sent Zach into screaming and crying. She got about three shots done, and Zach decided he had enough. "Daddy, make it stop!" he pleaded. "It's okay, Zach! Halfway done! You're doing great!" Daniel comforted as the doctor quickly did the last three. Jonah started to make his way out of the room when it was his turn, but Daniel grabbed him before he could. "Not so fast, little man," Daniel said putting him in the same position he had Zach. "No daddy," Jonah said already crying. "It's okay!" Daniel said, and the doctor got started on the shots. "Ow!" Jonah screamed as it was his turn. "Please, stop it!" Jonah said through sobs, and Daniel did his best to calm his hysterical son. "It's okay, Jonah! We will go get ice cream after! You're doing so good!" he said and finally the doctor finished. Daniel grabbed Corbyn from his car seat, and he sighed. Daniel has been dreading this moment. "Okay, here we go," the doctor said starting the next round of shots, and Corbyn woke up sobbing. "Awe, buddy! I know it hurts. It's okay!" Daniel tried to soothe his crying son as the doctor put the needles in. He sighed a breath of relief when there was only one kid left, and he comforted Corbyn back to sleep quickly. Daniel got Jack ready, and the doctor performed the shots again. Daniel cringed as Jack started screaming and crying, and he felt like crying too. "I know it hurts, I'm so sorry! It's okay," Daniel said and then comforted his other son the moment she was done. "Everyone's done!" she said and Daniel was relived to go home finally. He took the kids to get ice cream, and by the end of the day they were all happy again.
