Liam had been dealing with quite a lot of pain in his throat, and the boys finally forced him to got to the doctor. He was frozen with fear as he heard he would be getting his tonsils taken out, and here they were a week later sitting in the hospital waiting room. Liam hadn't slept at all, his hands were shaking like crazy, and he was having a hard time breathing. "Liam?" the nurse said, and he swears he felt his heart stop. All of the boys followed her back, and she had him change into a hospital gown and left the room to grab the stuff for his IV. "Boys, I can't breathe," Liam said as he started working himself into a panic attack. "Liam, it's okay," Zayn said walking over to Liam, and the boys followed. "I-I can't breathe!" he said as he started wheezing. "Liam, look at me. Take a slow deep breath. Follow me," Louis said taking Liam's face gently in his hands and doing slow deep breaths for Liam to mimic. Liam finally got himself under control, and that's when tears started flowing down his face. "Boys, I can't do this!" he said, his voice scratchy from recently having strep throat for the second time that month alone. "Liam, you need to get this done. Your tonsils have kept you sick constantly! You're going to feel so much better once they take them out!" Harry said rubbing Liam's shoulder. "I just want to go home!" Liam said leaning back exhaustedly. "I know, babe! I'm so sorry!" Niall said patting Liam's leg. "We are going to be here the whole time, you are going to be just fine!" they said, and the nurse and surgeon resurfaced. "Hey boys! So, we are going to start your IV, and then we will talk a little," the surgeon said, and Liam squeezed Zayn's hand while she did it. "Okay, so this is a very easy surgery. It'll take about 30 minutes tops, then we will observe you for an hour, and then you can go home!" the surgeon said, and Liam nodded anxiously. "I promise there is nothing to worry about! I've done this surgery thousands of times!" the surgeon said, and that made Liam feel a bit better. "If you're ready, we can take you own down," the surgeon said, and he nodded. Once he gave them the go-ahead, the boys walked beside his hospital bed as they wheeled him down to the operating room. "We love you," the boys said all kidding him good luck. "I love you guys too!" he said before being taken into the room, and the boys went to the waiting room.
Just like the surgeon said, the surgery was done in 30 minutes, and they all went back to where Liam was sleeping. After observing him for an hour, everything looked great, and they got him home. Harry carried a sleeping Liam into the house and laid him on the couch. Liam started to move underneath his boyfriend's grips, and Harry gently shushed him back to sleep as he covered him up. "Poor thing," Louis said as they watched Liam fall back asleep. "I know!" Niall said and Zayn kissed Liam on the forehead as they let him rest. Harry put some soup on for when Liam woke up, and he woke up just in time. "Hey bud!" Zayn said seeing Liam's eyes flutter open. "Hey," Liam said with a scratchy voice. "Do you want some soup and medicine?" Louis asked, and Liam nodded as he curled up in the covers. "Okay!" Louis said going to meeting Harry in the kitchen. "Is the soup done, love?" he asked wrapping his arms around Harry. "Sure is!" he said as he pointed over to the bowls that were cooling. "Thank you, babe! Liam woke up!" he said grabbing the bowl and his medicine. "Oh! I'll help you!" he said and followed Louis into where Niall was sitting with Liam laying on his lap, and Zayn was finding something them something to watch on TV. "Hey love!" Harry said walking over to Liam with the bowl. "Hey," Liam smiled. "Here, I have your medicine," Louis said pouring it onto the spoon, and Liam sat up to take it. Then, he took the bowl from Harry and blew on it to cool it down. "Thank you, babes," Liam said. "Of course. Now, rest your voice!" Louis instructed. With the boys help, Liam was feeling much better in no time!
