Kristyn was very excited, because her and her husband, Niall Horan, were going to the iHeart Radio awards that night, because he was nominated for a few different things. The two of them had been looking forward to it for several days, because award shows were always super fun. Kristyn had to go to school, and a few short hours after that she would be getting ready to go. Kristyn was finishing up her senior year of high school, and her classmates and teachers were always snarky with her, because they didn't believe she was actually married to Niall. It had gone on for quite sometime, and she was used to their nasty comments, but it didn't make it hurt any less.
She went into school super excited for the evening. She had a smile on her face all day, and luckily school was breezing by. She couldn't stop thinking about how much fun her and the love of her life were going to have. She made it to last period, and she was staring at the clock every five minutes waiting for the bell. They had pretty much finished up their year, so a lot of their days were spent just chilling, and doing little busy work here and there. Today's busy work was just to go around the room, and tell the class what they were doing for the weekend. The students all told their plans, and then it got to Kristyn's turn. "And Kristyn, what're you doing this weekend?" the teacher asked. "Well, I'm going to the iHeart Radio awards with my husband," she smiled happily. "Here we go again," she heard from across the room. "Come on, Kristyn. Give this whole Niall Horan thing a rest," another one said behind her. "I-" she started to defend herself, but someone else spoke up. "Kristyn, no one obviously believes you. You need to get over yourself, because we all know as well as you do that you aren't married to Niall," another kid said making a particularly nasty comment. Then, all the other classmates started making jokes and comments to the point it got bad enough that the teacher had to intervene. "Okay class, settle down," she said trying to get the group off of Kristyn's back, even though she didn't believe her either. At this point, Kristyn's whole attitude switched. She was no longer happy, she now just wanted to go home away from them, and cuddle with her husband.
Finally, the bell rang and she was able to go home. As she walked through the door, Niall tackled her with a huge hug immediately. Niall could feel how tense Kristyn was, and she didn't look happy at all. "What happened today?" he asked already knowing that her horrible classmates had probably done something. "Well, we were going around the room telling what we were doing this weekend, and I told them I was going to the awards show tonight, and they started their usual attack of rude comments," Kristyn huffed as she explained. Niall took Kristyn's face into his hands, and had her look up at him. "Well, we are going to have a great time, and no mean comments are going to hurt our fun night!" he said comforting her, and kissing her before they went to go get ready for the show.
As Niall stood fixing his hair on one side of the bathroom mirror, Kristyn stood on the other fixing hers. It didn't take her long since her hair is naturally curly. When she was happy with it, she looked over at Niall. "Should I wear makeup?" she said thinking. "No! You look better without it!" Niall answered immediately causing Kristyn to smile and blush. She took his word, and decided not to wear any, and decided to put her dress on for the event. Niall ran downstairs to put his shoes on, and let Kristyn have the bedroom to change. Kristyn had picked out a gold sparkly dress that fell right below her thigh and just above her knee, and then she slid on her shoes. "Babe, are you ready to go?" Niall called up the stairs. "Yes, I'm coming," she said grabbing her bag for the night, and heading down the stairs. "You look beautiful," Niall said smiling as she emerged from the bedroom. "Thank you! You look handsome yourself!" Kristyn said joining him at the door. "Thank you, babe!" he said opening the door for her.
The two of them stopped for dinner before heading to the arena, and then made their way in for the awards. As usual for the couple, upon entrance they were swarmed with interviewers. "Niall, how are you feeling about the awards tonight?" one asked. "Good! A little nervous, but I think it'll be a great time!" Niall said back. "Kristyn, do you think Niall will win his categories?" one asked her. "I do!" Kristyn answered back. "Niall, what's your favorite song off of your new album?" one asked. "Black and White! It was our wedding song!" he answered smiling at Kristyn. They answered a few more questions when the organizer of the whole awards show approached them looking frazzled. "Niall, Kristyn, great to see you!" he said hugging them both. "I have a question to ask you," he said looking at Kristyn. "Yes?" she smiled. "One of the award announcers couldn't make it tonight, so would you want to announce the category that Niall is in?" he asked hopeful. "Sure!" Kristyn agreed. "Thank you so much!" he said giving her another hug, and then running frantically back through the crowd to get everything else organized.
The award show started a few minutes later, and Kristyn and Niall had taken their seats to watch. The award show went by swimmingly, and it was finally time for Kristyn to go up on stage. Kristyn headed up on stage and locked arms with the other announcer to announce the category, and go through the nominees. "And the winner is...Niall Horan!" Kristyn yelled after looking at the card. Niall hopped up smiling, and ran to the stage to accept his award. After he reached the stage, Kristyn hugged him and handed him his award. Niall thanked her, and approached the mic to give his acceptance speech. "Wow! Thank you guys so much! I want to thank my fans, my management, my family and friends, and of course, my beautiful wife, Kristyn! This wouldn't have been possible without her. She stands by my side through everything, and embraces my crazy lifestyle. I am truly blessed to have found the perfect person for me. It also makes this night so much better since she was the one to award me this!" he said smiling. After his speech, Kristyn and Niall walked backstage, and she kissed him. "Congrats, babe," she said smiling at him. "It wouldn't have been possible without you," he said kissing her again, and heading back to their seats. The rest of the award show went by awesome with Niall winning a few more awards, and them having a great time together.
The two came in laughing as they made it into their house. "Congrats again, babe," Kristyn said as she slid off her shoes, and Niall put his awards on his award shelf. "Thank you, babe," he said as he took his own shoes off, and they headed upstairs. They put on their pajamas, and Niall decided to do an Instagram Live to thank the fans. "Hey guys!" Niall said turning the camera on, and letting people join. He held Kristyn close as they sat in the bed on the live. "I just wanted to come on, and tell you guys again how thankful I am for you all. I have the best fans in the world, you guys are phenomenal. Thank you all for your support, and helping me have the opportunities to get awards like tonight!" he thanked them. Fans told him their congrats, they answered a few questions, and then fell asleep cuddled in each other's arms.
That following Monday, Kristyn had to go back to dreaded school. "How'd the awards go?" one person asked sarcastically as Kristyn walked in the door. She let it roll off her back the first few comments, but eventually it started to get bad. They were poking fun and teasing her, and she finally had enough. She pulled her phone out, and pulled up all of her evidence. She confidently walked up to the front of the class, and swiped through the red carpet pictures of her and Niall, she played their interviews, she played her announcing his category, his speech, and them sitting together. The class grew still and quiet as she showed them everything. She even went back to pictures from their wedding, some home videos, and a bunch of other things in her phone from a few years back even. Their faces had dropped in shock, and she felt much better once she had shown them everything. "Now, do you believe me?" she said clearly agitated after she had went through everything. The room was quiet for several seconds before they started to speak. "Kristyn, we are so sor-" a few started, but she shook her head and stopped them. "Don't even say it. I'm done with all your guys mean comments," she said walking back to her desk, and calming her anger down. She texted Niall immediately to tell him what had happened, and got a "You show them, babe! I'm so proud of you! Now, they need to leave my girl alone!" and they texted back and forth for the rest of the school day, and the class sat in utter silence. She was happy to have finally proved them wrong, and that they would stop all of their nasty comments.
