Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello were happily married with twelve adopted girls; two-month-old quadruplets Olivia, Poppy, Grace, and Isla, two-year-old twins Mia and Maisie, four-year-old twins Harper and Penelope, and six-year-old quadruplets Sophia, Evelyn, Luna, and Violet. The kids hated nothing more than going to the doctor and dentist, but unfortunately they had come up on the day to go to their appointments on the calendar, and Shawn and Camilla had been dreading it all week. They got up early to gather all twelve of their young girls, and they got them ready for the doctor and dentist, but they didn't know they were going yet. "I really hate to do this," Shawn said as he picked up Olivia. "I do too. I hate that they are so afraid," Camilla said gathering the contents of their huge diaper bag. "It'll be okay. We will get it over and done with, and then we are going for a while," Shawn said. "Yeah, you're right," she said calling up to the girls and putting them all in the car.
Shawn drove them all to their first appointment- the dentist. "Let's do this," he sighed as he unbuckled, and they started waking up their sleeping kids. Camilla gently picked up Sophia first and sat her down, followed by Evelyn and Luna. "Mommy, where are we?" Violet asked as she rubbed her eyes. "The dentist, baby," Camilla said and as if on cue, all of the oldest quadruplets looked at her with tears threatening to spill. "It's okay, girls!" Camilla said as she helped Shawn get the other little ones out. "Daddy, I don't want the dentist!" Harper said hearing Camilla. "It's alright, baby! Daddy and mommy will be right there with you!" he told her as they started walking into the office.
Once they got taken back, all of the girls were squirming and trying to get out of having their appointment. "Mommy, no!" Luna cried as Camilla wouldn't let her leave the room. "I know you're scared, kids, but you remember Dr. Jonah Marais. He's very nice! He's just going to check your teeth and clean them!" Camilla tried to comfort the girls, but it was really no use. Shawn got an idea and started to sing to them to keep them distracted, and it worked until Dr. Jonah Marais walked in. "Hi everybody!" he said as the came in. "Hi!" Camilla and Shawn said. "Hey girls!" he said and looked over, and he could see how scared they looked. "Oh no! Are we nervous?" he asked seeing the fear written all over the kids faces. "We are!" Camilla said brushing the hair off of Penelope's face. "There's no need to be nervous!" he said as he grabbed a bunch of gloves and put his mask on. "I'll help manage the kids if you'll just hold the babies," Camilla said to Shawn as he held the youngest set of quadruplets. "I can do that!" Shawn said situating himself where he had Olivia, Poppy, Grace, and Isla all in his arms securely. "Okay, Camilla. I think the best thing to do will be to sit them where you have their lower half, and then they can lay their head on my lap, so we can manage how much they squirm. I think it'll work best," he said, and Camilla nodded as she picked Violet up first and positioned her. "Okay, Miss Violet. Can you open wide for me?" Dr. Jonah said, and Violet did so anxiously. "Great! I'm just going to clean your teeth, none of this will hurt!" he said as he started checking her teeth. He got through with the cleaning, and then mouthed that she had four cavities he needed to fill. She nodded at him, and he had Camilla distract her while he prepared the needles. "Okay, we can lay her back down now," he said as he put the syringes on the tray where she couldn't see. "Okay, open for me," he said and before she could see, he gently poked her with the first needle. "Ow!! Stop it!" she cried and screamed. "You're almost done, baby!" Camilla said as she held Violet's hands. "No, mommy!" she said, but the dentist got all of the shots done quickly. "All done!" he said and quickly filled her cavities. Next, Camilla grabbed Luna. "No, mommy! I don't want to!" Luna squirmed, but they got her into position before she could wiggle loose. "It's okay, Luna. This isn't going to hurt one bit. Can I just take a look?" Dr. Jonah asked and after some coaxing, Luna let him clean her teeth. She also had four cavities. He gave Camilla a look, and she knew that it was going to be the same thing. "All right, Luna. I want you to focus on that butterfly on the ceiling," he said as he pointed up to the decorated ceiling. She nodded and opened her mouth for him, and he put the first needle in. "Ow!! Mommy, it hurts!" she cried, and Camilla rubbed her hand. "I know, baby. You're doing great though!" Camilla said as they dentist finished the numbing, and then filled her cavities. By the time it was Evelyn's turn, she was already in hysterics from watching her sisters first. "No, no!" she screamed as Camilla picked her up. "It's okay, baby. Calm down," Camilla said laying her head into Dr. Jonah's lap, and he quickly cleaned her teeth, and they managed to get her calmed down. Dr. Jonah held up four fingers to Camilla, and she frowned with a nod. "Hey, Evelyn. What's your favorite color?" Dr. Jonah asked her, and she looked up at him. "Pink," she said, and he nodded. "Can you open for me?" he asked, and she did after looking to see if he had a needle. "I like pink too! My favorite color is blue! I also like red, and orange," he said just talking to keep her attention, and he sneakily pulled the needle from around. He stuck it in her mouth, and she squealed in pain, but he got done quickly. He filled her cavities, and then they got Sophia laid down. He cleaned her teeth, and also found four cavities. "Okay, Sophia. Let's count to ten!" Dr. Jonah said and started counting. On three, he got the numbing medicine into her gum. "Ow! No more!" she screamed, and the dentist quickly filled her cavities. Finally they were down to the last four that needed appointments, of course the youngest babies didn't, because they didn't have teeth yet. "Harper, how old are you?" Dr. Jonah asked as he started cleaning her teeth, and she held up four fingers. "Wow! You're getting so big!" he said spotting another four cavities. "Awe man," Camilla said above her breath as he told her. "I know," he said with a frown, and he grabbed his needle. He gently poked her gum, and it was the same routine of screaming and crying. Unfortunately, Penelope, Mia, and Maisie all had four cavities too. After tons of crying and screaming, they finally had all twelve kids loaded back into the car and were off to their next appointment.
Camilla and Shawn unloaded all of the kids and took them to the waiting room. Once they realized where they were, it was nervousness all over again. They had followed the nurse back and gotten all their questions asked before Dr. Jimin and Dr. Suga came in. "Girls, I know you're nervous, but this is the last appointment," Shawn said as they continued waiting. The kids were very upset, and it was taking all Shawn and Camilla could do to keep them calm enough not to bust out into tears. "Hey kids!" the doctors said walking in. "Hey!" Shawn and Camilla said, and once again the kids were silent. Dr. Jimin and Dr. Suga were familiar with the girls being nervous, and they always did all they could to make them feel comfortable. "Let's get started right away!" Dr. Jimin smiled. "We will get the oldest four on the table first!" Dr. Suga said. "Since you did the majority of the kids at the dentist, you take the babies," Shawn said. "Okay!" Camilla said, and Shawn put Sophia, Evelyn, Luna, and Violet on the bed. "Okay, we will just split up the kids and go down the line," Dr. Jimin said, and they got started checking on the kids. They checked their heart and lungs, vitals, ears, eyes, and all of the other necessities, and then they got Mia, Maisie, Harper, and Penelope on the table to do their checkups. Finally, they got Olivia, Poppy, Grace, and Isla on the bed, and then they excused their selves to get the shots. Shawn and Camilla knew they were due for them, and they tried to keep the kids occupied until the doctors returned.
The moment the doctors walked back in with the needles, the kids began to panic even more. "Let's go ahead and get Sophia," Dr. Jimin said. "No! Please, no!" she cried as Shawn laid her down on the table. "It's okay, baby! Focus on daddy," he said and they started giving her all mine shots she required. "Ow! Daddy, make it stop!" she screamed, and Shawn kept her tiny hands secured. "Hey, it's alright! You're doing so good!" he said as they finished up, and he grabbed Evelyn. "Daddy! No!" she said as she squirmed underneath his grip. "It's okay. Relax. Daddy is right here," Shawn said as the doctors stated doing the shots, and she freaked out. They rushed them along, and then it was Luna's turn. "No! Please, daddy! No shots!" she said, and Shawn comforted her. "It's going to be really quick, baby girl!" he said, and the doctors wasted no time in getting the shots done. They quickly did Violet's, and then they moved on to Harper and Penelope that had to have five. "No! Daddy, no shots!" Harper screamed as he laid her down. She squirmed underneath his grip, and he kissed his daughter's forehead. "Shh, baby. Daddy's right here," he said as they started doing the shots. Penelope was no different, she was very upset and cried when it was her turn. They got Mia and Maisie next who had to get six. "Daddy! Ouch! Stop!" Mia screamed. "I know, it hurts, I'm so sorry!" Shawn said. Maisie was very unhappy as well, and she tried her hardest to get loose of his grip, but they got her secured down and the shots administered. Then, Shawn swapped places with Camilla as he comforted his still very upset kids. Camilla laid Olivia on the able first, and they got ready to do the youngest fours seven shots. She giggled as Camilla made funny face at her while holding her steady. They got the shots in, and Olivia started sobbing. "I know, baby! I know. Shh," Camilla said as they got them done. She got Poppy on the table, and she was sleeping until the shots were done. She woke up crying, and Camilla sang to her to try and soothe her. Then, she got Grace and Isla done who also screamed and cried. By the end of the appointments, they were all exhausted. They all went home grateful they didn't have another appointment for quite a while.
