It wasn't but about an hour, and the dentist came walking out to the waiting room. All of the boys stood, and he smiled at them. "He's all done! The surgery went perfect, and he is awake. He's already asking for you guys," the dentist said, and the boys laughed at that. "I'll take you guys back. He can leave in about 30 minutes, we are just observing him. I have printed out some care instructions, but basically just a lot of ice, soft foods, and everything else on the list! It should be a piece of cake, and he will be back to normal in no time! He will be sore though for a few days, so I have prescribed him some pain killers, so just be sure to be consistent with everything on the care instructions, and he should be feeling better in about a week tops," the dentist instructed and they all nodded as they followed him back to Liam's room. "Here you are boys," he said opening the door, and revealed Liam laying back in the dental chair. "Hey Li!" Niall said softly, and Liam smiled at him. "Hi!" he said mouth full of gauze, and the boys laughed at him. "How are you feeling?" Louis asked and grabbed Liam's hand. "Pretty numb still, a little tired," Liam said as he tried to talk around the gauze. "Okay, babe! Just get some rest, we will leave soon!" Harry said, and Liam nodded before closing his eyes back while Zayn played with his hair.
The boys didn't want to bother Liam's napping, so Harry carried him out to the car. They picked up his medicine and some supplies to make him soft foods, and he slept on Niall's lap the whole car ride. Finally, they were back home, and Harry carried him to the couch to sleep. While Liam napped, they worked on getting him some soup made, his ice packs frozen, and they laid out his medicine to be ready for him. Louis noticed that Liam was moving around and he groaned in pain. "Hey Li," Louis said making his way over to his groggy boyfriend. "Hey," Liam sounded out, and Louis could tell he was hurting. "Do you want to sit up?" Louis asked and Liam nodded, so Louis helped sit him up with the pillow behind his back. "We've got you some stuff ready," Louis said, and Harry walked in with the bowl of soup. Zayn and Niall followed with his ice packs and medicine. "Thank you," Liam said as he downed the medicine, and Zayn secured the ice packs to Liam's swollen cheeks. "No problem, babe. You need to eat," Harry said and sat down next to him on the couch. "I'm not really up for it," Liam said due to his mouth hurting so bad. "Come on, Liam. Just a little bit. It's soup!" Harry said knowing Liam loved soup, and Liam finally nodded. "Okay!" Harry said and fed Liam his soup. "Thank you guys for taking care of me," Liam said to his boyfriends after he had finished eating. "Don't thank us, Liam! It's our job, and we love to do it, cause we love you!" Niall said and Liam smiled lightly. "I appreciate you guys," Liam said and they all snuggled close to watch a movie. After the movie was finished, they all went up to their shared bed and cuddled close. They ran around waiting on Liam hand and foot for the next few days, and in no time, he was back to his usual happy self.
