Kristyn lived with her fiancé, Niall Horan, as well as her twin, Liam Payne, Niall's best friend and bandmate. Kristyn was a dentist who owned her own practice, and Liam and Niall were in the band One Direction. One day, Kristyn got up just like always and went to work. She had seen Liam that morning and told him bye, but she never did see Niall come through. Niall typically got up early, but it wasn't uncommon of him to sleep in some too, so they didn't really think much about it at the time. However, when Niall finally got up out of the bed, Liam could tell something was off. "Morning, mate! I made you some breakfast!" Liam said and Niall half-smiled at him. "Thanks, Li," Niall said and walked over to the table to see that it was bacon and eggs- his favorite. He fiddled with the eggs and made it look like he was eating, but when Liam went up to take a shower, he raked it all in the trash and then went to lay on the couch.
When Liam resurfaced from upstairs, he noticed Niall laying down. "Tired, mate? You've not be uo long," Liam laughed but Niall didn't laugh back. "Just tired," Niall said closing his eyes back and running a hand over his cheek. "Hm," Liam said waking into tears kitchen. He downed the rest of his water, and then opened his trash can to through the bottle away. When he opened the trash, he noticed that all of Niall's breakfast was in it. He looked up confused, Niall always ate Liam's food, but especially bacon and eggs. "You alright, Ni?" Liam asked walking back into the living room, and Niall simply nodded at him. "No, you aren't! You didn't eat breakfast, and now you're laying on the couch and look like you're in terrible pain," Liam said and Niall looked at him. "I'm fine, Liam," Niall said but Liam rolled his eyes, and he went into the kitchen to call Kristyn.
Liam leaned against the counter as he waited on Kristyn to answer. "Hello?" she asked and Liam knew she must be on break, since she answered her phone. "Hey! You busy?" he asked just in case. "Nope, just got on break. Is everything alright?" Kristyn asked confused as to why Liam called her. If he was just wanting to chat, he would normally just drive down to her office. "Well, Niall is acting strange. He's laying on the couch and he looks like he's hurting, he kept rubbing his cheek. Also, he threw away his bacon and eggs I cooked," Liam explained and Kristyn grew concerned for her fiancé. "Bring him in," Kristyn instructed and Liam nodded even though she couldn't see. "Okay, we will be there shortly," Liam said and hung up the phone as he walked back in to where Niall was laying. "Hey Ni, get up. We are going to Kristyn's to get you checked out," Liam said and Niall shot him a look. "You called her?" Niall asked and Liam nodded. "You obviously aren't okay, and I know you are hurting. Come on, let's go," Liam said waving Niall up. "No, I'm okay," Niall argued and Liam sighed realizing this was going to be harder than he thought. "Come on, Ni. You know you need to, please," Liam pleaded and Niall shook his head. "There's no sense, Liam. I'm fine," Niall said rubbing his eyes, and Liam grumbled. "I've already called Kristyn, she's expecting us. Plus, you know that she's worried. Do it for her," Liam said and Niall sighed knowing that he wasn't going to get out of this one, so he got off the couch and silently got his shoes on.
On the way to the office, Niall laid his head on the door. Liam patted his shoulder as they were pulling in, and he knew that Niall was hurting. "Come on, bud," Liam said after they pulled in, and Niall meandered into the office slowly. "Kristyn, you're brother and fiancé are here," a receptionist said back to her as she saw them approaching through the window. "Okay! Thank you," Kristyn said finishing what she was doing on her computer, and she heard them door chime. "Hey guys!" the receptionist said as they entered. "Hey!" Liam said and Niall waved at her with a small smile. Kristyn stood up and opened the door to the empty waiting room where they were. "Come here, baby," Kristyn said pulling Niall into a hug knowing he's hurting. She rubbed his back as he leaned into her and breathed in her familiar scent. "What's wrong, babe?" she asked and Niall stayed silent. Kristyn pulled away to look him in the eyes, and he dropped his head to the floor. "Nothing," he muttered out, and Kristyn sighed. "Ni, you have to tell me," Kristyn said taking his hand and he sighed. "The back of my mouth is hurting really bad," Niall finally admitted and Kristyn looked at him sympathetically. "I can take a look. Follow me," she smiled as she motioned him back, and they followed her into an exam room.
"Sit down for me, babe," Kristyn said taking her engagement ring off like she always did before putting gloves on and sticking it safely in a drawer. Kristyn put a mask over her face, and turned the overhead light on as she leaned Niall back. "Open for me, please," she said grabbing her tools and taking a quick look to see what the problem was. "Ah," she said seeing the problem almost instantly. "Your wisdom teeth are coming in and there isn't enough room for them. You'll have to have them taken out, unfortunately," Kristyn said sitting her tools down and pulling her mask down. Niall didn't like that at all; Kristyn could see that written all over his face when he shot her a look after hearing that. "I know, babe. I'm sorry! I can put you to sleep, or I can keep you awake, but I'll have to numb you a lot," Kristyn said and Niall thought about his options. "I want to be put to sleep," he said and Kristyn could see how nervous Niall looked. "Okay," Kristyn smiled as she got up to get an IV and the sleeping medicine. After Kristyn came back into the room, Niall watched as she sat the IV and medicine on the tray, and he noticed her engagement ring wasn't on. "Where's your ring?" Niall asked getting a little antsy. "It's in the drawer. I don't like wearing it while I have gloves on," Kristyn explained to him, and Niall relaxed at the answer. "Oh okay," he smiled as he leaned back into the chair. "Are you ready?" she asked after getting everything settled, and Niall's heart began pounding as he looked at her with nervous eyes. "You have nothing to worry about, babe. I do this pretty much everyday," Kristyn said seeing his anxiousness, and Niall nodded at her. "Okay, good deal. We will get started then," Kristyn said reapplying her mask and sitting down on her stool.
Kristyn rolled herself closer to the dental chair Niall was sat in. "Okay, just relax for me, baby," Kristyn said and Niall tried as she looked for a vein in his hand. "Ah, there's one," she said as she found one, and then picked up the IV needle she was putting in. "Okay, I'm about to put it in," she said and Liam moved to hold Niall's other hand. Niall squeezed Liam's hand as he watched the needle approach his hand. "Okay, 1,2,3," Kristyn said and gently inserted the needle. "All done!" she said when Niall winced, and then she started putting the sleeping medicine in. "Okay, you'll start feeling that shortly," Kristyn said, and Niall started to settle into the chair. Niall nodded and Kristyn held the hand with the IV in it carefully. "Close your eyes, babe," Kristyn said as she noticed Niall seemed to be fighting sleep. "Think about our wedding," Kristyn said and Niall smiled as he thought about it. "Who's the best man?" Liam joked and Kristyn laughed a little as Niall opened his eyes to look a Liam and closed them back. "You already know it's you," Niall said and they could tell he was starting to fall asleep. "I love you," Kristyn said and then Niall was fully asleep. "I'll leave now. Do a good job," Liam smiled kissing his sister on the cheek before walking out to the waiting room.
Kristyn got finished a bit later, and then she went to go out and get Liam from the waiting room. "He should wake up shortly," Kristyn said as she cleaned up the room and wiped down the cabinets. "I'm just glad he will be back to normal," Liam said and Kristyn agreed as she sat down. The two of them talked until they noticed that Niall's eyes were starting to open. "Hey babe," Kristyn smiled and Niall rubbed his eyes. "How do you feel?" Liam asked as Niall noticed there was gauze in his mouth. "Okay," he said trying to talk, and they laughed at him. "Are you ready to go home?" Kristyn asked and Niall nodded. "Okay," she said and her and Liam helped stabilize him until they got him to the car. Kristyn ran and locked her office really quickly, and then they headed back to their house.
Once there, Kristyn helped get Niall laid down on the couch, and she covered him up. She went to walk away, but Niall grabbed her hand gently and she stopped. "Do you need something, babe?" she asked and he smiled as best he could with his swollen cheeks. "You," he said and Kristyn smiled as she made her way to lay down beside him, and he pulled her close. "Awe," Liam sounded in a brotherly tone from where he was standing, and Kristyn and Niall looked at him causing Liam to laugh as he made his way up the stairs. Kristyn cuddled into Niall, and the two of them fell asleep. After their nap, Kristyn took extra good of care of Niall; she made sure he always had his medicine and ice packs, she made sure he had good soft foods, and per Niall's request, tons of cuddles. In no time, Niall was feeling much better.
