When Liam went back to the orthodontist, it was time for them to take the spacer out. "Okay, open for me," the orthodontist said after taking the spacer out and inspecting the area to see if anymore work needed to be done prior to Liam getting his braces on. "It looks like you're going to have to have four back teeth pulled before we put the braces on today," the orthodontist announced sadly knowing that Liam wasn't a fan of the orthodontist or needles. "What?" Liam asked nervously, and the orthodontist frowned at him. "I'm sorry! We have to make space, so your teeth aren't overcrowded. We will numb you really well, and you won't feel a thing," the orthodontist said, and Liam felt his stomach turn. "I'll be back with the needles, and we will get started!" the orthodontist said, and the boys jumped into action to comfort a now crying Liam. "Awe Liam," Zayn said rubbing Liam's back as he pulled him into a hug. "Relax, Liam, we are right here!" Niall said holding his hand. Harry and Louis hugged him as well, and they all felt awful.
"Okay, let's start right away," the orthodontist said as he grabbed the numbing needles, and Liam laid back down. Louis and Harry held his hands, Niall sat a hand on his knee, and Zayn played with his hair. "Deep breath, Liam," he said and went to numbing. Liam squeezed the boys hands as he tensed up, but he let the doctor do his job. The orthodontist went straight into removing the teeth, and he went to do one last look over to see if everything was done when he found out that Liam also needed two upper teeth pulled closer to the front. "It looks like you actually have two more that need to be pulled. I'll have to numb you a little more," he said, and Liam had silent tears running down his face. "Shh, baby! It's okay," Louis comforted as the orthodontist gave two more shots.
The orthodontist finally got all the teeth removed, and Liam seemed to have calmed down. "Almost done, mate," the orthodontist said as he started securing the braces to Liam's teeth. Zayn seemed to soothe Liam when he massages his scalp, and they finally got him nice and calmed. The orthodontist put clear braces on, so they were less noticeable, and sat Liam up in the chair after. "All done, buddy! You did phenomenal!" the orthodontist said as Liam looked at them in the mirror. "Thank you," he said satisfied with them. "You're welcome! See you in a month!" he said after teaching Liam al the proper ways to clean them and take care of them, as well as what he could and couldn't eat. When they boys arrived home, they all cuddled and Liam fell asleep happy that he had such amazing boyfriends.
