Liam woke up with quite a bit of pain in the back of his mouth. He felt awful, and the boys took him straight to the dentist. "This hurts so bad," Liam said as he sat in the chair waiting for the dentist. "I know, baby. I'm so sorry," Louis said gently running his thumb lightly over Liam's cheeks. "I wonder what it is," Harry said as he sat at Liam's side and held his hand. "I don't even know. This has to be the worst pain I've ever seen him in," Zayn said as he leaned against the wall and observed. "I know. Maybe it's his wisdom teeth," Niall offered up as the dentist walked in. Liam wasn't happy to be at the dentist, but he would do anything to make the awful pain stop at this point. "Well, Liam. From the x-rays, we have figured out that your wisdom teeth are more than ready to come out," the dentist said, and Liam shuttered at the words. "I know that's not a fun thought. We are going to do the procedure with you awake, but you'll be completely numbed. You won't feel a thing," the dentist said, and Liam was not happy. "A-awake?" he asked again, and the dentist nodded. "Yes, but it'll be just fine! I'll be right back with the numbing medicine," the dentist said, and Liam was still shocked. "I can't do this awake! This is completely not okay!" Liam said, and the rest of the boys came to comfort him. "Liam, please don't panic. We are right here," Niall said, but it was much to late. Harry could feel Liam's hand start shaking, and his head began thumping out of his chest. "Liam, now listen. It sounds worse than it is," Zayn said taking Liam's face gently in his hands. "But, what if-" Liam started, but Zayn shook his head. "No "ifs" about it, babe. You are going to be absolutely okay!" Zayn said, and Liam could feel his heart continuing to beat hard. "Li, we wouldn't lie to you! We are going to be right here. It's just a few pinches, and then this awful pain you're dealing with will be gone," Louis said, and Liam sighed a shaky breath. "Here, babe. Follow my breathing," Harry instructed and put Liam's hand on his chest. Liam mimicked his breathing to Harry's, and they finally got him a little calmed down.
"Okay, we will get started since this is a lengthy procedure," the dentist said. "I promise, this is only a small pinch. You won't feel a thing after these," the dentist said sensing how nervous Liam was. "Okay," Liam said trying to focus on his boyfriends that were working hard to comfort him. "Alright, here's the first one," the dentist said, and Harry got Liam's attention. "Focus on me. Remember that breathing we just did, let's continue that," Harry said, and Liam did as he was told. Before he knew it, the needles were all administered, and he was fully numbed. Liam relaxed the slightest bit, but all of the horrendously scary tools made his eyes go wide. "This is not going to hurt at all!" the dentist said, and started removing all of his wisdom teeth. "Love, Relax," Louis said seeing Liam's jaw get tense, and Liam closed his eyes as the dentist started the procedure.
"Okay, Liam! You're all done!" the dentist said, and Liam was relieved. "I'm just going to stick some gauze in to help with the bleeding," the dentist said, and Liam nodded as he felt the dentist putting them in. "Okay, now just bite on these until the bleeding stops. I'm going to send you boys home with some more gauze that you will need to change when you get home. If he bleeds a whole lot, you'll have some extras to change them to just in case," the dentist said sticking the gauze into a bag. "You can also pick up his medicine from the pharmacy, it's ready to go!" the dentist said handing the boys the bag of gauze and ice packs, and running them through some quick care instructions before the boys went home to let Liam rest and take care of him.
