Warning: Graphic description of wreck scene and injuries.

prompt: Hannah gets into a terrible car crash, and has to be rushed to the hospital. Hannah's deathly fear of medical professionals winds up getting the best of her, forcing her to run out of the hospital. While searching for the runaway patient, the fact that she is a famous popstar makes the job tricky to keep the paps away. (other info: The 5SOS boys are her doctors, Luke is Hannah's brother, and she is dating Demi Lovato.)

It was midnight when it happened. Hannah was driving back from Demi's, when an oncoming car didn't stop at the red light. After the collision happened, an ambulance was called to take an unconscious Hannah to the hospital...

Hannah jolted awake after what seemed like forever. She looked around to figure out where she was. Once she took into account the white surroundings, the machines beeping, and the horrible pain all over her body, she realized she was in the ER. She could hear people yelling, and trying to open up a room to put her in. Hannah was deathly afraid of any type pf medical setting, and she began to panic. "What am I going to do?" she thought to herself. That's when she decided her only option was to run. Despite the excruciating pain, she found the nearest double doors, and fled as quickly as she could.

Meanwhile, Luke was just sitting down in the break room with the boys. He plopped down exhaustedly, as he was on the sixth hour of his shift. After exchanging quick greetings, he realized he had missed a plethora of calls from Hannah, and he listened to the message that was left from her number. "Hi Luke, this is first responder Mike. I believe this is your sister Hannah, she has been in a horrific car crash. We are taking her to your hospital. Please let us know when you receive these calls." Luke's jaw dropped as he fumbled to replay the message. "Mates! Listen to this," he said playing the message over again. "Oh my gosh! A wreck patient just came into the ER, Dr. Carter went to take care of it," Michael let them know. They all rushed into the ER to look for Hannah. Dr. Carter rushed by, and he was pale as a ghost. "Dr. Carter! Did they bring Hannah Hemmings in?!" Luke asked when he saw the man. "Yes! She has gone missing! Is that your sister?" he asked trying to catch his breath. "Yes! She hates any type of doctor, no wonder she ran," Luke said grabbing his hair. "We are going to go into a state of emergency. I am going to call the other ER doctors in to take your shifts over, I just got an ambulance ready for you. You and the boys need to go find her pronto, she was very hurt," he explained. "Yes sir! Thank you so much!" Luke replied and they ran to the ambulance.

"Where could she have gone?" Ashton asked. "There's no clue, but if it gets out that she got into a wreck and she is missing, paparazzi and fans are going to swarm the area. We have to find her as quick as we can. I am going to call Demi and let her know what is going on," Luke explained and then called Demi.

After a few rings, Demi groggily answered. "Demi, please don't panic, but Hannah has been in an awful car wreck. When she woke up in the hospital and figured out where she was, she ran away," Luke told still out of breath. "What?! What can I do?" Demi said hopping out of bed. "Just search," he said. After quickly agreeing to the plan, they decided to stay in touch, and then said goodbyes.

After hours of searching, they were beginning to lose hope. The later it got, the darker it got, and the harder it was going to be to find her. Finally, after turning a corner, the headlights of the ambulance shined on a body behind some bushes. Hannah was lying on the ground unconscious. Calum quickly hopped out of the big vehicle, barely letting it stop rolling, and ran to the body. "IT'S HER!" he confirmed, and all the boys went running toward her. They pulled a gurney to the site, but it wasn't long before the paps and fans had spotted them. They pleaded for them to back off, and ultimately decided to push through the wall of crazy screams and flashing camera lights.

Once in the ambulance, Luke strapped her down to keep her from trying to get away again. The team started working on stabilizing her, and Luke worked on trying to get her awake. After putting some ice packs on her, she gasped awake. "Where am I?!" She screamed. "Hey, hey! It's me! It's me!" Luke comforted. He grabbed her hand to keep her calm as the group surrounded her. In no time, they were at the hospital, and she was rushed into x-rays and having other tests ran. Once Demi arrived, she met Luke in the break room. He hugged her as soon as she walked through the door, both of them sobbing. A few minutes later, Michael walked in with some papers. "How is she!?" they both pushed for answers. Michael took a seat in between them, and gave them a sad look. "She is in very bad condition. She has several broke bones. She has a fractured spine, and has a broken jaw, arm, and leg. She also has some internal injuries and some brain trauma that we need to look further into. For now, we need to rush her into emergency surgery," Michael said giving the load of information. Luke nodded and stood up to scrub in and promised Demi they would take good care of Hannah.

They rushed her straight back to the operating room, and started working diligently to fix all of her ailments. Finally, after seven hours, they rolled her into a hospital room to recover. The boys left Demi and Luke alone to wait for her to wake up. "How bad is she?" Demi said breaking the silence. "She is very badly hurt. She has a very long road of recovery ahead of her. She is going to need at least a few months of therapy to get her walking and her jaw fully working again...she also has some brain trauma that we are not sure of yet," Luke answered. "What does that mean?" she asked. "We aren't going to be able to tell the severity of it until the neurologist reviews her scans," Luke explained further. Demi had stray tears running down her face as she sat down to grab Hannah's hand. "I'll leave you to have some time alone with her," he said patting Demi's shoulder and leaving the room.

"Hey bud," the boys said when he walked into the room. They had already changed into their street clothes, because their shifts had ended. Luke sat down on the same spot he had sat in moments before the news broke about the wreck, and rubbed his tired eyes. Ashton came over to massage Luke's shoulders to help him relieve some of his stress. "I don't know what to do. I have no idea how bad this is going to be when she wakes up. I have called the neurologist to come look at her pronto after she wakes up, but I don't know how much he is going to be able to tell. This is horrendous, absolutely horrendous," Luke rambled on. Ashton stopped what he was doing, and went to pull Luke into a hug. "It'll be okay, I promise," he assured but Luke wasn't convinced. Luke nodded and pulled away from the hug. "I am going to go check on them," Luke said and excused himself. As he walked down the hall, he was met by Demi. "Whoa, what's going on?" He asked. "She's awake!" Demi said and they both headed down the hall. "Hey Hannah. Can you hear me?" Luke said shining his light in her eyes. Hannah groaned but nodded her head slightly. "It's Luke and Demi, Hannah," he explained. "You were in a car wreck, Hannah. You had surgery," Demi said and she started to open her eyes slowly. She grimaced in pain, and Luke notified the neurologist that she was awake.

Dr. Painter walked in to see Luke and Demi each sitting on a side of the bed, and holding a hand of Hannah's. "Hi, Mrs. Hemmings," he said. "I have looked at your scans, and luckily you only has a severe concussion. You will need to keep her on bedrest other than for therapy hours. She is very lucky to only have a concussion, it could've been much worse!" he said and saw himself out after scheduling another appointment to check up on her after a few weeks. "Hannah, you really scared us," Demi finally admitted. "Yes! I cannot believe you ran from the hospital," Luke said still in disbelief of how she even did it after she had all those injuries. "I know..I am really sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, you know how much I hate doctors though. I just freaked," she said and started to cry. Demi wiped the tears off her face, and kissed her cheek. "It'll be okay."

After several days, Hannah got to go home. Demi stepped up to help Luke take care of her. They knew it was going to be a rough few months, but Hannah knew with Luke and Demi, it would all be okay.
