Niall and Kristyn had been very happily married for eight years, and one day he and Kristyn were sitting around, and Niall muted the TV. "I have to tell you something," he said taking a nervous breath. "Okay!" she said shifting to look at him. "I want to start a family," he said and looked at her. "I want to start a family too!" Kristyn smiled at him, happy to hear he was thinking the same thing. Shortly after, they were sat anxiously on the bathroom floor together waiting for the pregnancy test to show up. Kristyn had been showing some symptoms, and they were really hoping that she would be expecting. "That's four minutes," Niall updated as they sat and waited. The five minute waiting time seemed more like five months. They were both holding their breath as they waited for the last minute to pass. "That's five minutes," Niall said as he looked at Kristyn. "Wanna check together?" she asked and Niall nodded with a smile. "Okay, 1,2,3," she counted and took a breath to calm herself. "Oh my gosh...Oh my gosh!! I'm pregnant! Babe, we are having a baby!" Kristyn screamed excitedly as she read the test results. "Oh my gosh! That's amazing, babe! We are going to be parents!" Niall said kissing his wife lovingly. They were ecstatic, and automatically got to scheduling and talking about things. "I want an at home birth. I like the idea of having the baby at home," Kristyn said right off the bat. "Okay, babe! That sounds great! Anything you want!" he said liking the idea himself.
Nine months later, Niall was on the road with tour, and Kristyn was at their London home. She was extremely close to her due date, so she wasn't able to travel with him due to that. When they were a few days out from their due date, Kristyn's and Niall's parents flew out to London to be with Kristyn while Niall was on the road. The few days left leading up to the date, their parents took great care of Kristyn. They made sure she was comfortable, and that everything was going as stress free as possible. Niall called multiple times every single day to check in, and made sure to tell Kristyn to call him the second she went into labor, and he would be on a flight home. At about 2:00pm on the day before the due date, Kristyn could feel her some pain in her stomach that started out somewhat dull, but then gradually turned into some intense contractions. "I think I'm having contractions," Kristyn said as she steadied herself down the stairs to notify everyone that was sitting in the living room. Kristyn's mom and Niall's mom hopped up immediately, and helped her onto the couch to get her sat down. She wasn't dilated any, so they called Niall immediately to tell him what was going on, so he had time to get a flight back. "Could you hand me my phone, please?" Kristyn asked out as she tried to breathe through the contractions that were coming every so often. "Yes!" Maura said grabbing her cellphone, and handing it to her quickly. "Thank you!" she said as she got through the contraction, and then scrolled and found Niall's contact. Niall picked up immediately, and frantically answered her. He had been sitting on his phone like a mother hen the past few days, because he knew Kristyn would be having the baby at any time. "Hello?" he said already out of breath. "Hey babe, I'm starting to have contractions," Kristyn replied calmly and smiled as his urgency. "Oh my gosh! I'll get a flight scheduled immediately!" he said as he got his manager's attention right away, and canceled what he was doing, and went straight to the airport.
Niall had made it home in time, and it was a good thing, because Kristyn started going into labor pretty shortly after he walked in the door. "Niall, this hurts so bad. I can't do this," Kristyn said panicked as she got through another painful contraction. "Of course, you can do this, babe! You are so strong!" Niall encouraged her as she leaned her head back against his chest to rest between contractions. Niall stayed right with her through all of the grueling contractions, and as she got closer to giving birth, they called the photographer in to capture the birth, and Niall held her hand tightly. She squeezed his hand, and he swept her hair that was falling into her face away, and helped tie it into a ponytail. "You're doing so good, babe! Keep breathing!" he said as he breathed with her, and let her squeeze his hand as hard as she needed to. He comforted her as the pain got even more intense, and the contractions got closer and closer as it was nearing time for her to give birth to the baby.
Finally after 12 hours of painful contractions, at 2:00am of June 9th, Kristyn's birthday and due date, their beautiful baby girl, Kaylyn Rose Horan was born. As she was born, Kristyn's mom cheerfully said, "Welcome to the world, Ms. Kaylyn!" Niall and Kristyn started crying immediately after they saw her. Niall cut the cord, and Kaylyn was handed to Kristyn to hold her. "She's beautiful!" Maura said as they all crowded near to get a better look at the baby. Kristyn held baby Kaylyn, and she wrapped her tiny hand around Kristyn's finger, causing Niall to cry again. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," Niall said over and over again to Kristyn as he kissed her, and wiped the tears off his face. After a few minutes of getting everything settled, Kristyn's parents were able to hold Kaylyn. "Oh my goodness, she's so precious!" Kristyn's dad said as he held her after Kristyn's mom did. Her parents were extremely excited, because this was their first grandbaby on their side, since Kristyn was an only child. Kristyn's dad looked at his granddaughter lovingly for a moment more, and then handed her off to Maura to hold. "She is perfect!" Maura said as she took in the view of her sweet grandchild. "She is!" Bobby added as Maura shifted baby Kaylyn over to let him hold her. Maura and Bobby were also so happy to have another grandbaby. After everyone had gotten a chance to hold her, they got Kaylyn cleaned off and their parents decided to go back to their hotel to allow Niall and Kristyn some time alone with their new baby. "We will see you guys tomorrow," they all four said as they left.
After they left, Niall and Kristyn cuddled as they held their new baby girl. "Happy Birthday, babe!" Niall said as he looked at Kristyn. "Thank you. I got the best birthday present ever!" Kristyn said as she looked back down at their sleeping baby. "I love you so much!" Niall said as he pulled his girls closer. "I love you so much too!" Kristyn said and leaned into Niall, and they spent time just admiring their new baby, and fell asleep together a little later as a family of three.
