Harry and Sofia were married, and had a lot in common. They were both 28, and both dentists. Sofia was a pediatric dentist, and Harry was a general dentist. They were happily married with three year old twins, Vicky and Mati. One day while eat breakfast, Sofia and Harry were talking. "I think it's time for their first check-up," Sofia said cleaning out a bowl. "I was thinking that too," Harry said. "We could get mom to come take care of them while we do the check-ups," Harry offered. "That'd be lovely," Sofia said and Harry picked up the phone to call Anne.
"Thanks again for helping us watch them!" Sofia said handing Mati to Anne. "I don't mind at all!" Anne said taking Mati and going upstairs. "Vicky, come here, baby," Harry said going to get Vicky. They took Vicky to their office, and got started with her first check-up. Vicky got through it all like a champ, and everything went smoothly. That's when it was time to get Mati. "Good job, Vicky! I'll go get Mati, and take Vicky to mom," Harry said picking Vicky up.
Mati demanded he walk ahead of Harry. Harry was right behind Mati the whole time, but Mati ran off and lost his footing, and fell face first onto the ground. "Oh my gosh!" Harry said grabbing Mati up off the floor. Mati started screaming and crying, and Harry checked to make sure he was okay. He walked into the office with a crying Mati, and Sofia looked up confused. "What happened?" Sofia asked taking Mati from Harry and shushing his cries. "He fell," Harry said looking at Mati concerned. "I think he's okay," Sofia said after he stopped crying. "Okay, let's do this check-up really quick then," Harry said and Sofia sat Mati in the chair. After they had Mati open his mouth, they saw the damage he took from his tumble. "Well, it looks like he broke a tooth," Sofia said as they performed the check-up together. "We will have to fix it," Harry said sadly. "What do you think we should do?" Sofia asked Harry. "I think we should just extract it, since it's a baby tooth," Harry said getting a closer look. "Okay, that sounds good," Sofia said getting all the tools they would need. They already knew the needle was going to be a problem with Mati, and they felt bad that they had to extract it.
"Okay, Mati. Can you open your mouth for me?" Harry asked Mati trying to hide the needle from his sight, but it didn't work. Mati had already caught a glimpse of it. Mati immediately started to freak out when he saw the needle. He was little, and didn't understand what was going on. "It's okay, Mati!" Harry said trying to soothe his son. Mati was screaming and crying from what was going on, and it made Harry and Sofia feel even worse. "I know, bud," Sofia said picking up Mati trying to calm him down. "I promise, it'll feel better if you let us fix your tooth," Harry said trying to help. It took them several minutes to get their son calmed down, but eventually his cries subsided, and they sat him back in the chair. They were trying to figure out how to tell their young son what they were doing, and not scare him worse, so they decided it would be best to just keep him calm, and pretend the needle wasn't even there. "Okay, bud. Dad is just going to stick this little thing in your mouth," they told him and Mati opened his mouth nervously. Before he could even know what was happening, Harry had the shot in his mouth, and it was over, and they were able to extract the tooth.
"Finally," Harry said leaning back in his dental chair and rubbing his eyes. "I feel like that took us forever," Sofia said cleaning up their mess they made. "I know! I feel so bad that we had to do that," Harry said. "I know, it was awful," Sofia said as Harry stood and they walked out to go back to Anne and the kids. "I'm exhausted!" Sofia said as they made their way in the room. "Me too! I'm just glad everything is over!" Harry said back to Sofia. "Me too!" Sofia said and they spent the rest of the day playing with the kids, and visiting with Anne. They felt bad that they had to do the check-up, and that it upset Mati, but they could rest a little easier knowing that it had been done.
