Niall Horan and Kristyn were engaged, and were both very successful and busy. When Niall wasn't touring, he worked a side job as an orthodontist, and Kristyn was currently working hard to finish up her senior year of high school. A perk to having a fiancé that was an orthodontist was that Kristyn had access to great dental care anytime she needed; however, something she didn't like so much is that people tended to pick on her, because they didn't understand she was actually with Niall Horan. Kristyn persisted through the days though, and tried to ignore their rude comments and bullying, because she was almost done with school, and she wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. One day, she was minding her own business at school as she walking to her next class. Kristyn heard some footsteps approaching behind her quickly, but just figured that someone was running late to class and was trying to hurry. All of a sudden, Kristyn felt a huge shove, and she was pushed to the ground. Kristyn felt the impact as she fell face first onto the ground, and she grimaced in pain. Kristyn had throbbing pain coming from all over her face, and especially her mouth. She got up slowly and knew immediately that something wasn't right. She could feel the brackets of her clear braces broken in her mouth, and she stood shocked for a minute as she gathered her thoughts. All of the kids around her were laughing, and Kristyn couldn't take it anymore. She went straight to the office and signed herself out early, and then drove right to Niall's office.
As she walked into the building, she was still dealing with the horrible pain that only seemed to be getting worse. When she walked in, the receptionist obviously knew who she was, and let her straight back to Niall. It wasn't uncommon for Kristyn to come in and hang with Niall on the days she had free while he worked. "Kristyn, what are you doing here, babe? Don't you have school right now?" he asked surprised to see her walking into his office where he was taking a break. Kristyn didn't answer him, she just looked down at her shoes and Niall grew concerned. "Baby, what's wrong?" he asked and that was all it took for Kristyn to let out the tears she had been trying to hold in. "I'm sorry, Niall. I'm really sorry," Kristyn said through sobs, and Niall hopped immediately and brought her into a hug, rubbing her back as he held her close. "Hey, it's alright. What are you sorry for, Kristyn?" he asked getting even more worried. "I broke some of my brackets," Kristyn told him as she sniffled. Niall pulled away to look at her, and he smiled gently. "How'd you break them, babe?" Niall asked as he kept his hands on her shoulders that were still shaking with cries. "Somebody knocked me to the ground, and I fell on my face. I'm sorry" Kristyn explained as she started crying more. "Hey, stop apologizing. It's okay, it isn't your fault," Niall said hugging her tight again, and giving her a second to soothe her cries. "Let's go take a look," he said after she had calmed down some, and led her to a dental room.
"Go ahead and take a seat, baby. I'm just going to get some tools out," he said with a smile as he went and got everything set up, and Kristyn sat down in the dental chair. "I'm just going to look first," Niall said as he had Kristyn open, and he examined the damage done. "Okay, babe. They are all broken in half, so I'm going to have to put all new brackets on where they are broken," Niall said as he took the tools out of her mouth, and Kristyn nodded at him. "Alright, babe. Bite down on this piece of cotton. When I start taking the brackets off, it's going to be tender," Niall said getting a piece of cotton, and having her bite down on it. "Alright, babe. Here we go," Niall said as he started taking the brackets off. It hurt pretty badly, and it felt like it took forever to get the brackets off. Niall tried to get them off quickly without hurting her too badly, and he eventually got them off and cleaned the glue off her teeth. "All done, time to start putting the new brackets on," Niall said as he grabbed the cheek retractor, and got started on putting the new brackets on. "Alright, babe. I'm going to go ahead and give you a tighter wire and power chains to get your teeth moving while I'm working on you," Niall said after he got the brackets replaced. Kristyn nodded and Niall worked diligently to get Kristyn's dental work completed. Finally, Niall finished and leaned Kristyn up in the chair. "You're my last patient, so we can leave," Niall said as he cleaned up the area, and Kristyn was happy to hear that.
Niall and Kristyn went back to her parents' house, and Kristyn was relieved to be home. Niall and Kristyn cuddled on the couch, and enjoyed watching Fuller House for a while when they heard the front door open. "Hey guys! We are home," her mom said as her dad sat the keys down, and they came into the room. "Hey," Kristyn said from Niall's chest, and Kristyn's parents joined them sitting on the other pieces of furniture in the living room. "Hey!" Niall greeted them as well. "Would you guys like to go get some dinner with us?" her mom asked with a smile. "Sure!" Niall and Kristyn answered them. "Great!" her mom said as they all stood up to get ready. They wound up going to a Mexican restaurant, and having a great time. They laughed and enjoyed each other's company, and took the happenings of the day of Kristyn's mind. After dinner, they all went back to Kristyn's parents' house, and Niall and Kristyn cuddled and fell asleep in each other's arms.
