The week leading up to the game felt like a day to the students.

Juanma, Zoe and Mia had the math exam on Tuesday and an oral exam on Thursday. Alvaro had his English exam on Wednesday, and he didn't have a very good feeling.

For Juanma, the only downer was that Gaspar had asked Zoe if she could do an appearance with him on the weekend after the game. She asked Juanma if he minded, Juanma thought for a moment. He had promised to trust Zoe and he didn't want to take away the fun of a gig. So he said it was okay.

Friday after school they started to  Ramiro. Ramiro was happy because he had already booked the house for the vacation and wanted to discuss a few things with the students. It was a cozy evening with a lot of laughter. Mia shared a few things from her early childhood that she remembered, and Ramiro listened carefully. Sometimes he wondered how his and Mia's life would have been if he had stayed with Mariana. He came to the conclusion that he would then have gotten a lot more from Mia, but would probably have lost Alvaro and Lupe or would not have met Lupe at all.

The evening had progressed far too fast and the boys wanted to go to bed to be fit the next day. Juanma had been in a little pain again that evening, but he hoped that the game would go well with the relaxation over night. Marcello had congratulated him on captaining the game and Juanma was very happy about it. He got along with Marcello much better than before.

The next morning the four drove to school early. Marcello still had a few things that he wanted to give to the team and they wanted to throw a few balls as well. Simon, Zoe and Mia had carved out a good spot for the game. When the teams came onto the field, Juanma looked for Zoe. She gave him a thumbs up and smiled at him. Alvaro caught the eye and patted Juanma on the shoulder.

The opposing team was strong and Juanma had already divided the players well in advance. Alvaro was in top shape and kept running away from his opponent. All in all, the game went very well.Mia noticed that Juanma was not running clearly, she had the impression that he was in pain. Alvaro also noticed this and spoke to Juanma about it in a timeout.

Juanma said "No everything is ok, it draws every now and then but it is ok"

Marcelo looked alarmed and said "I can take you out if it becomes a problem, you played a great game".

" No, Coach, everything is fine, "said Juanma.

Despite the strength of their opponent, theynever had to catch up with a deficit and still stayed in the lead. Alvaro tried to relieve Juanma by trying to cover his position. Juanma smiled gratefully at him.

They won the game by a good margin and while the opposing coach knocked his team down, Marcello jumped in the air with enthusiasm. He praised his team and took the players one by one in his arms. With the great cheers of the St Mary's students, they ran into the locker room.

Juanma carefully sat down on the bench. Alvaro sat down next to him

"Are you in pain??" Juanma nodded.

"Come on, let's get changed slowly"

Juanma could hardly put any weight on his right leg. He had gritted his teeth during the game, but that was no longer possible.When Alvaro saw him like that, he said, "Juanma we will let  check that again. The game was as good as it is now we have to take care of you."

When they came out of the locker room, Mia and Zoe were already standing at the entrance. "What happened" asked Zoe worriedly when she saw Juanma's face contorted with pain.

"The pain is worse," said Alvaro for Juanma and added "We're going to the hospital. Stay with him, I'll get the key for the car"

Mia texted Ramiro to let him know and Zoe looked for Marcello so he could tell Florencia.Alvaro was quickly back with the key. Juanma sat in the front because it was easier for him.Arrived at the hospital, Zoe and Mia registered him while Alvaro walked with him into the waiting area. Juanma had turned pale and he seemed to be in great pain. Zoe held his hand tight.

They had to wait for a while because there were some people before them. A nurse had already briefly asked quietly what problems Juanma was having.

Juanma was called and Zoe went with him to the treatment room. Juanma had become very nervous while waiting. He felt that this time it was worse and that he would not be able to avoid an operation. The doctor looked through the documents and said, "Well, let's see if your appendix has now become infected." He patted Juanma and ordered an ultrasound. When he came out of the room, Florencia was there too and took her son in her arms.
