In the afternoon Lupe called Alvaro and told him about the vacation and Javier, and that Mercedes was back from vacation." How is she?" asked Alvaro. "She makes a good impression, she wanted to call you tomorrow."
"Will you be in touch if something should happen?" asked Alvaro. "Sure I'll do it. Tonight I'm out with Gaspar."
"Are you together now?"
"You are really curious, big brother" said Lupe with a laugh. "No, not really. I like being with him, but at the moment we're just good friends."
"Who slept in one room while on vacation, right?"
"Caught" said Lupe. "But don't tell Ramiro."

The four of them had arranged to meet Roberto and Clara in an ice cream parlor at 7 p.m. Clara took all four in her arms and Roberto hugged the girls and greeted the boys with a handshake.Clara looked well rested. Mia thought to herself that Roberto seemed to be good for her; she looked more confident and cheerful. They sat at a table in a corner and exchanged holiday experiences. "You have to ask Ramiro again about a skiing holiday, that was a great idea" Juanma didn't want to think about what had happened to Mia in the ice and Alvaro said "Sure when the time comes again".Mia saw that Roberto seemed to be watching a couple of teenagers through the window, she looked in the direction but didn't know any of them."Don't you want to go somewhere else?" Alvaro asked. "There is a small bistro three streets away, so we can sit outside and eat something too."

Since everyone agreed, she paid and went over to the bistro. Mia had noticed the group of youngsters again.

They sat outside and told Clara many things that they had experienced, Roberto had also spoken to her about  his past  and said that the four of them had helped him a lot. It was a nice time together and Juanma also seemed to be able to come to terms with Roberto very well. Mia and Juanma told about the planned performance and Clara and Roberto promised to come.

When it got later, Mia said "I think we should end for today, tomorrow it will be late again".

The others nodded and they paid. Roberto was at the other end of the city center with his car and the four decided to go a little more with him and Clara. Zoe had stopped at a shop window with Clara. The others were a few meters ahead.

The youth group, which Mia had already seen twice, came towards them. Roberto was so engrossed in a conversation with Alvaro and Juanma that he didn't see them until he was jostled.

"Oh there is our buddy, who now thinks he is  better than us. Hello Roberto," said one of them in a playful, sweet voice.

Roberto startled and said "Paolo!"

"He still knows us after all," Paolo said to his buddies. "Then why don't you respond to calls," he hissed at him.

"I told you I was out," said Roberto.

"Yes, of course, because you now have such fine friends and also go to such a great, beautiful school. And there is also the little one that you once had with you." said Paolo and stared at Mia. Alvaro immediately pushed himself in front of Mia and Roberto pushed Paolo and said "Leave us alone".

Juanma stood in front of Clara and Zoe, who had meanwhile joined them. "I want my part  of what you have" shouted Paolo. "You were one of us until you got better.

He took another step towards Roberto. The others in the group stood behind him.

Juanma and Alvaro stood behind Roberto, but still in front of the girls. Alvaro said, "You'd better leave it alone now. We shouldn't cause a stir here."

Paolo went up to Alvaro. "And what do you have to say here?"

"Well as much as that I saved your gang from being charged with assault. If you remember Mia, you also remember the state in which my friend and I picked her up. The traces are secured. There are enough witnesses. So if you don't want an advertisement, then leave Roberto alone once and for all. "

Paolo wanted to attack Alvaro, but Juanma and Roberto intervened. Meanwhile other passers-by had stopped and Paolo looked around. He took a step back and said to the others, "Let's get out of here. It's not worth it".

Clara was trembling all over. Roberto wanted to take her in his arms, but she backed away. Roberto looked at her for a moment and then turned around. As he was about to leave, Alvaro held him tight. "Hey don't go away now. She's scared. Give her a moment." Juanma had meanwhile gone to the girls. He gave Zoe and Mia a hug and looked at Clara. "Clara, that is no longer this Roberto that they were looking for. I knew Roberto as he was and that is no longer the same person. It is not his fault that they do not leave him alone." Mia and Zoe each had an arm around Clara and when Clara looked at both of them, they nodded and smiled at her.
